DS's leg was stuck in the crib slats last night

Has anyone else had this problem with their crib?  He woke up screaming (I thought due to teething) and his leg was stuck in the front of the crib slats.  We have the Munire Urban crib - I am disappointed this happened.  I don't know what we can do to prevent it again....I don't want him getting hurt.

TIA

Re: DS's leg was stuck in the crib slats last night

  • It happened to both my kids when they were a lot younger, I put a bumper in and have not had the problem since.
  • Loading the player...
  • I have the bumper in also.  I  took the bumper out once, after he threw up on it and I didn't get it back in before he went to sleep and he kept banging his head on the rails and kept waking himself up, needless to say that bumper went back in ASAP.

  • We did a bumper for awhile too.
  • This only happened once for us, and it was recently. I have taken two blankets, and rolled them and tucked them in between the mattress and the crib, but this happened with that in place (it's meant for a pacifier barrier!). I am not too worried about it though. I took her arm out, and she was fine, and it hasn't happened since.

DD will use the bumper to climb out, so that is not happening!

  • Happens to us sometimes - the bumper definitely helps.
  • We have the Munire Majestic and this happens from time to time. It happened 2 nights in a row several months ago, so I went out and purchased a breathable bumper and used that above the "real" bumper. It worked until just last week when she somehow managed to do it again. (But she was in her crib before nap time playing...so she was probably sticking her foot through the slats or something:p)

  • Ditto on the breathable bumper!  I love ours!

  • we still have the breathable bumper in his crib for this reason.

  • we also have the breathable bumper still in Kian's crib for this reason, and it is not thick enough for him to stand of to try and climb out - so win on both parts.

  • happened to my 8 mo old son two times in past week - he got his arm stuck in the Munire Urban crib in the back (what will become the headboard).  there are slots on both sides that are wider on top and narrow as they descend.  i called the company.  he said no one else had ever reported a similar problem (v hard to believe) and was very unhelpful.  NOT GOOD!
