I officially have a full time job :-)

I got two job offers on Friday--one at a new company, part time, and one from my current employer, to go full time. I ended up accepting the one at my current employer.

The other one sounded like it was going to be awesome--it was close to home, with a younger group of people I'd be working with, and I'd continue to have more time with Holly if they'd pay enough per hour (I was under the impression that it'd be 28-30 hours). But the offer ended up being for 25 hours only, and even though hourly it was more than the other one, it just didn't end up being enough.

Those who saw my response to charch last week also saw that it required working with a just completely awful lady on a regular basis. She cursed her way through our interview (how professional!), told me she was in charge and I better not disagree with her, told me my first job would be to fire half the sales staff...and so on. Between the pay/hours not being enough, and having to deal with someone who would probably make me cry on a regular basis, I decided it wasn't worth it. I definitely learned the grass isn't always greener on the other side!

So, I start April 1 full time here. While it's not my dream job, the people here are nice, and I'll get off at 4pm, which means I can still pick up Holly sometimes. It's very laid back, and they have some great benefits and incentives, which is nice. They also offered me a promotion of my job title (plus a slight pay increase), which will look good on my resume. I just want to stick around for awhile, as my resume currently makes me look like some kind of job hopper!

It is such a relief to have this behind me. It's been almost 2 years since I lost my permanent job when I was pg with Holly, and I've been in limbo ever since. To have paid vacation, holidays, and a "real" paycheck is going to feel so awesome. I'm not sure I'm going to know what to do with myself. Smile
