It is getting out of control. And I am now getting the majority of them in the middle of the night, which is super annoying when you have your cell by your bed to use as an alarm. Ideas?
Is it one place sending them or random people? Change your number if it's all random people. Unsubscribe from any places you may have given your phone number to.
They are all from different random places and phone numbers. They say you can text back "Stop" to discontinue but I worry that this will either a) sign me up for something I don't want or b) like some spam emails, confirm it is a valid phone number and encourage more spam to be sent
ETA: I don't give my cell out to places, I always use my work line if I need to give it to people. I wonder if someone I know, or even some random person is using my cell number to sign up for crap online.
I have been getting a ton in the past few days, something about subscribing for access to ringtones. Very annoying, and I have no idea how to block them. I'd hate to change my number.
I've gotten a few here and there, but cannot for the life of me figure out where I gave my number that would do that, because I never give my cell number out to companies or anything. It's really freaking annoying though.

I get these too and my worries exactly mirror yours. I don't know where these people got my number
I sent a text back "stop". You can also look the number up online and place a call to their office to ask them to note that you don't want it anymore. If it gets really bad you can ask your service provider to block unknown texts I think. HTH
Text back stop. Those random messages could be charging you a monthly charge of up to $10. I hate those companies. I work for a cell company and I see these charges on a regular basis.

Re: Does anyone else get spam texts on their cell?
I only get them from Payless. I must have given them my number.
