Has anyone doctored through Gail Heathcote at Associates in Obstetrics, Gynecology & Infertility in downtown GR? I'm 18 weeks and my next appointment is with her and just wondering other people's experience with her...
Gail is awesome! I am only a few weeks ahead of you but have been seeing here since my miscarriages. She is very friendly and knowledgable. I look forward to my appointments with her whereas with my first child, I dreaded seeing my OB because it was like she barely remembered my name.
I really wanted a midwife so I switched from seeing my family doctor to the midwives at Associates in OB/GYN. 4 weeks before my due date I ended up switching back. I had hyperemesis and it took them 2 months do prescribe me a working anti-nausea drug. I was anemic for 3 months of my pregnancy, and no one ever gave me my hemoglobin reading or prescribed me the iron supplements. Then when they realized their error they freaked out. They found an abnormality in my ultrasound and didn't tell me until 6 weeks later when I should have already had the follow up ultrasound. They changed my due date 5 times with like 1 or 2 days difference in the estimated size of the baby upon all of these ultrasounds.
We moved here when I was 25wks or so and I tried to contact the midwives there and they never returned my phone calls or emails, so I never ended up even meeting them. I opted for a homebirth instead with one of the wonderful CPMs around here, and had a fabulous experience. Not sure if you'd consider that option, but it'd be what I'd recommend.

DONT GO THERE!
Wow, I'm sorry you had such a bad experience with their office! I've been going to AOB&I since before I became PG and I haven't had a
bad experience yet. I've been seeing an OB there and it's not that I'm unhappy with her, I'm curious to see the difference between my OB and the midwives. I've read alot about midwives in general and it sounds like they look to provide a more personalized experience, which is what I'm looking for.
I'm glad everything worked out for you! Sorry you went through all of that!
Thanks everyone for your input! I guess I will see how my next appointment goes!

Loved her. I saw Gail through most of my pregnancy but Sandy ended up delivering our DS, and she did a fantastic job. I'd recommend any of the midwives there.
Gail is awesome. I don't have kids yet we are TTC but I was in delivery with my sister and Gail was great. I think she was better that the doctor my sister had the first time. I have had visits with Gail, Sandy and Amy. They are all very friendly.
