Hi All-
Thanks for all of your T&P! I was discharged this morning and I stil have an inside baby! My dr. has put me on "couch potato status" as she calls it until at least Wednesday when I have a follow up appointment with her. She's going to check me again to see if my cervix has stayed the same.
If you didn't read the OP here's what happened:
I woke up just before 7am on Tues. morning to tinkle my DH was about to leave for work and I right after I tinkled I started bleeding bright red blood. It was coming out in little gushes. I called the drs office right away and they paged the dr on call. About 5 mins later I passes a clot (a little bigger than a grape) and I told MH- "Okay, we're not waiting, we're going to the hospital." I had pretty much stopped bleeding by the time I got the hospital. The hooked me right up to the machines and asked if I felt tightening. I said no. Well- I was contracting every 3-4 minutes with 50 sec contractions. So the gave me terbutaline to stop the contractions, they slowed them down for an hour, but then they started back up again. They gave me dose of procardia and that didn't stop them, so they gave me another dose and that didn't work either. They checked my cervix and I was 1cm and 25% effaced. They then but me on Magnesium Sulfate- they ended up putting me on the highest dose within a few hours. I was on that over night and woke up at 4am and could barely move my limbs. The immediately turned down the dosage and took blood and then a little while later took me off of it completely. The side effects of magnesium sulfate were terrible and I hope no one has to have it. In the morning my dr checked me again. I was 1-2cm and 50% effaced. They monitored me all Wednesday and Thursday. I am still having contractions, maybe one longer one an hour at the most and a few super short ones- my doctor doesn't seem to be worried. The entire time I was in the hospital the nurses/drs told me that Fiona looked great- even with all the meds, her heart rate looked great and she was moving all over the place!
I'm hoping Fiona will cook for at least another 5 weeks. I really need to take it easy... easier said then done. But I've got to do what's best for Fiona ![]()
Re: Update: T&P for Hope2B
Yay for still having an inside baby! Such great news! Thanks for the update.
I missed the OP -- oh my goodness, how scary! I'm so glad they got the contractions under control and that things are looking good. Keep on cooking!
