The hospital was supposed to submit paperwork to get it, but they didn't. So, I have been trying for 14 mo to get her #. I have gone down to the SS office in person 3x (with DD), waited one time 2.5 hours, only to be given the run around. It's like they don't believe she is my daughter. I won't go into all the details of what the issues were, but let me just say they have no idea what the heck they are doing and I keep getting told incorrect info.

The last time I went there was 6 weeks ago, presented all the correct paperowrk (again) and they said I would get her card/number in 4 weeks. They gave me a reference number and on the paperwork it said I could call the Main SS office or my local one and check on the status. So, I call the main number, and all I get is a fast busy signal. I can call after hours on the weekend and get a recording so I know it is the right number. I call the main number and they tell me they can't pull up the reference number on their system so I have to go into the office yet again.

So, I ask you this, how well is gov't run healthcare going to work?

I'm sorry you are having this frustration.It is ridiculous.

DH's birthdate was entered wrong 32 years ago and he has tried twice to get it changed with no luck. It causes some kind of problem every year at tax time.

I hope your next trip to the SS office is the last one for you!
