Georgia Babies

crazy + pregnant = Truly Insane

that would be me.  Like I don't already worry enough about everything on earth, now I am worrying even more...and yes, about things I have NO control over.

Ex 1 - I had an ultrasound las week to check cervical length and they did some quick baby measurements and told me the weight was around 5 oz.  Well, babycenter  says the baby should be 2.5 oz.  Um, that means my baby is twice as big as it should be.  My kid is going to be huge!  (irrational thoughts this early, yes, i know)

Ex 2 - at said ultrasound, baby looked like it didn't have much room to move around.  I don't remember Jax looking that squished.  I now worry baby is going to run out of room soon.  What is wrong with me?

Ex 3 - b/c of 1 and 2 I worry something is wrong with baby.  We aren't doing the 1st/2nd tri screening b/c of suck insurance and costs, so I won't get peace of mind till baby is born, right?

Again...i know i'm irrational and just crazy, but UGH.  I don't need anything else to worry about!

  • Haha!!! Besides all that, how are you feeling? Were you able to get some rest while at your mom's?

  • i got a little rest.  jax loves to go there. i am feeling better.  but if it's not one thing it's another ya know!!

i know have migraines this week (i get them from time to time, hope they go away fast) and, i can feel the beginning of heartburn coming on.  i only get that when pg.

but, not nauseous and am so happy about that!

  • For example #1 - I think Baby Center weights are majorly off. I went in at 21 weeks and they said the baby was 1lb 1 oz. Baby Center said the baby should be 12 oz! that is a HUGE difference - yet they said my baby was on track. According to Baby Center, he shouldn't be that big till week 23-24. I was a little worried, but then my doctor reassured me.

    :) thank you...i needed that!!!

i go to dr for my regular visit on thurs and i will ask the dr.  she knows i'm crazy, so it's ok.  :)

  • Aw, try not to stress too much!  I would not worry at all about the size of the baby that early on, and I'm sure (s)he has plenty of room!  You're doing great!

i know have migraines this week (i get them from time to time, hope they go away fast)

Went to doc this morning and complained of terrible headaches that just won't go away and he said from 12-16 weeks headaches are common and esp. bad due to decrease in hormones from first trimester.  He said he tells his migraine ladies to watch out.

I don't normally have migraines, but these headaches have been killing me!  At our romantic stay-cation 2 weeks ago i broke down crying at midnight b/c my head hurt so bad and sent DH out for tylenol...he walked 4 blocks downtown in the middle of the night just for me :)

  • For Ex 1 -- Seriously, don't you stress and worry yourself... it is really hard for them to predict weight/size even further along... I wouldn't stress about that at all. I haven't given birth yet (still have 6 more weeks), but of all my friends who have... they agree that the doctors predictions are not always right.. =)

And I especially wouldn't worry as early on as you are.. so many changes could take place between now and delivery!!

    No need to stress!!!!!!

  • Your post made me giggle a little...only because I have been there...twice! I would always worry after an ultrasound or dr.'s visit. It was even harder with teh 2nd pregnancy...b/c I did not get a lot of ultrasounds like I did with the twins. I had one at just about every visit with them...so they would calm my fears...but sometimes I would leave wondering if they missed anything!

Also...about the weight...the u/s can be off...the day we went in for a normal check-up they said Haley weighed 4+ lbs and that James was almost 5lbs. Well...they sent me to the hospital that day b/c of contractions and later that week the twins were born...Haley was not even 3 lbs. and James was 4 lbs. I would say they were "off" on the u/s.

Pregnancy is such a miracle in itself....even if your little one is big...he/she will make room! Don't you worry!! You just keep taking care of yourself! Hang in there!!
