I didn't even ask, and assumed it was finish. When I worked in the hospital and tested blood sugars we always tested from when the patient finished eating, not started so the thought didn't even cross my mind.

I didn't ask either. I just went with finished eating since that made the most sense. Plus they do the GTT 1 hour after when you finish drinking the sugar drink.

I rec'd a Gestational Diabetes book from the dietician from the International Diabetes Center & in the book it even says "after the start of the meal.."
So i would call your doctor to verify which it is since we all have been told differently
I was told after the start, but that makes ZERO sense to me since it frequently takes me 1/2 an hour (or more) to eat. How is that number even relevant? So I try to be exactly at the hour marker when I finish. Why they want to know what my number is 1/2 an hour (or less) after I finish doesn't make any medical sense to me.
But yeah, if you're worried- ask. I'm not worried.
