Infertility

I can see tulips poking through...

so it must be spring! even though today is miserably cold and windy.

My tulips- always bloom early and usually there's a huge wind storm after they all bloom so the petals all fall off.  Hope this year they stick around a bit.  This year, I have one of those blankets of seeds that you roll out and water- so hopefully that will fill in the spaces between all my perinneals

anybody else plant flowers? What do you have growing in your garden?

  • It is so beautiful out today it is almost painful to have to work inside all afternoon.

I tried doing some gardening last year and it turns out I have a balck thumb of death. It probably doesn't help that the only garden area we have is in the fenced in backyard with the dogs who run around in the garden bed. I am going to try again this year though, so we shall see.

You have to post picks of your flower carpet thing when they start blooming. I have often considered going that route as it would probably be a lot easier.

  • As far as perennials go, I have tulips, daffodils, clematis, columbine, hydrangeas, bleeding heart, day lillies and geraniums all greening up or budding right now. I expect to see my hostas starting to peek through in the next couple of weeks.

My favorite annuals to plants are impatiens and begonias, because they are pretty much no fail! I think I'm going to try a few new flowers this year.

DH is outside putting together the raised bed I ordered so I can start a veggie garden this year.

Peonies are my favorite but I've yet to get any planted here! They smell so good and remind me of what I imagine an old farmhouse wife would have growing in her side yard, along with some early spring irises.

Here are a few pics of my flowers from a few years ago - I forgot about my coneflowers and lavender.
