I started to get one at six weeks. I looked it up online and found they are common starting at 6 weeks, of course . He put me on antibiotics after taking a urine sample. I cannot remember the name, sorry. It was two weeks ago and I SO have pregnancy brain. Good luck and drink lots of cranberry juice.
I had one around 7 weeks that I didn't even know existed until after a urine test at the doc's office. I actually had to have IV treatment for it for 10 days because it was a hard-to-treat bacteria that didn't respond to normal antibiotics. Most times though you'll just be prescribed an antibiotic. Hope it gets better soon and you have easy treatment.
And--congrats! I remember you from GP. Glad to see you on the tri. boards!
Nitrofurantoin (Macrobid)- if you get this MAKE SURE you take it with a full meal and/or a big glass of milk. Otherwise it might make you feel very sick.

My OBGYN called me a few days ago and told me that my urine cultures came back and that I had a UTI. Even though I am very prone to them, I was surprised because I normally know when I have one. Anyways, she prescribed me Amoxicillin 500 mg 3x a day for 7 days. Hope this helps!
I read somewhere that UTIs are pretty common during pregnancy and for those that get one during pregnancy, they have about a 1 in 3 chance of recurring. I'm kinda worried about this, since I have such a bad history with UTI due to a kidney reflux I have had since a kid. Does anyone know about this and if I can expect my kidney reflux to get worse during pregnancy?

Thank you. Feel better soon! UTI's suck.
I didn't know I had one either until I did the urine test at the OB's office. They gave me AMPICILLIN which is a form of amoxicillin.
