My DD is really tired.. She is only 10 weeks old but I feel she is sleeping more than usual. How were your LOs when they first started daycare?
I am really stressed bc DD has reflux and sometimes its tough for her to eat and it takes time and paitence for her to finish a bottle. Each day they are recording that she is eating 1 1/2 - 2 oz like every hour?? She usually takes 4-5 oz in one shot every 3 hours.. I am just really stressed and the guilt is killing me. I am even fighting with DH bc she has to go to daycare...
Please tell me it gets easier......
Re: Day 3 of Daycare and I need some advice.....
It really does get easier. The babies grow and change and that alone makes it easier, in addition to just getting to know the people and routines at day care. Kids are often more tired at first. DD never napped as well at day care as she would at home.
DS started daycare at 13 weeks, and he was so sleepy at first. I think the new environment and stimuli just tuckered him out. Sounds pretty standard to me.
I would talk to them about her bottles again and see what they can do to try to get her to eat more in one sitting. It could be that they are doing all that they can or that she is just adjusting. If they are recoding that she's eating something every hour, through, I doubt that it's for lack of their trying to get her to eat. Sounds like they really are giving her lots of opportunities to eat. Is her reflux acting up and is she acting hungry and cranky?
And, I'm just going to say it -- it will get easier, but unless you are going to quit your job, you are making this worse by fighting with your DH and feeling guilty.
DS started daycare at 6 weeks and slept a lot more at home from the first day. He would only be awake long enough to eat, then would sleep for 5 or 6 hour stretches. He would sleep at daycare, but maybe not very well, or maybe there was just too much going on that it wore him out. This is only the third week, but he already seems to be adjusting. He's not falling asleep as soon as we get home anymore, but still sleeps well overnight.
DS's eating habits also changed when he started daycare. He's gotten into a great eating schedule now though.
