OMG - she fell/climbed out of her crib...

and it's on the lowest setting already! What do we do now??

Dh and I both heard a thump from different parts of the house, and both ran in there to find her on the floor. We're not sure how she went over or if it was "on purpose" or not. ?She was crying, but as soon as we got there, she was happy again. She's talking, walking, playing like normal, but now we're afraid to put her back in there! Yikes!!

    Put her back in, make sure there's nothing in the crib she can get leverage with. I wouldn't take off the railing until the third or even fourth time she gets out.

    You want to hear a funny story though? My sister's DS at 2 years old could lift his 6 month old sister out of her crib (she was already crawling). It took about a week for my sister to figure out hos her daughter was getting out. Eventually her son "showed" her...I love that story.

    This scared the crap out of me because my nephew broke his arm falling out of his crib. So for me, Personally, I would get a toddler bed ASAP or a crib tent.

    Wow! you really have a climber. ?She's pretty young for a toddler bed, can she even walk yet? ?You'd have to be able to show her how to get in and out of bed and she probably wouldn't be able to do it yet. ?I don't know what a crib tent is but maybe try that. ?GL!

    Toddler beds are very tiny and low to the ground. We put our oldest in his around a year old. I have seen babies who are still crawling in them. There should be no issues getting in and out.

    ditto pp, toddler bed time.  shorter fall, easier fall if she does fall out.

    I'd get a crib tent. I can't imagine a baby that young in a toddler bed. She could get out and crawl all over the room unsupervised.

    I agree with the pp. I would go with a crib tent so they can't get out and about in their room without you around.

    I put dd in the crib so I could go to the bathroom.  DH was working outside.  Then I heard a thump and screaming.  It was horrible!  I thought I was putting her in a safe place.  Now I just bring her with me where ever I go.  This spring we'll try a toddler bed.
