1. Can I get some convertible car seat recs? I know Britax is a good brand, but which one?
2. My mom and dh keep saying Max needs a hair cut. His hair is sort of longish on the sides (covers his ears). Would you get your 6mo old a hair cut this early? I personally think his hair is adorable.
Tia!
Re: 2 questions
I have a Boulevard CS. I bought it because my car doesn't have side impact air-bags, so I felt safer with the extra impact protection. That being said, that sucker is huge!!
If I had a smaller car, or side impact air bags, I would have probably have gone with the Marathon. I think both seats are usable up to 65 lbs.
With regards to Max's hair, I say leave it. He is so stinkin' cute!!
1. we have a Marathon. Love it. Actually have two of them.
2. leave the hair.
I have the Britax Marathon in the mini van. Its the basic no frills version I got it at a great deal. We never had a second car seat for Andy's car until he recently got a safer car. We bought a Graco Nautilus which I have to say, i LOVE. Its got a sturdy built in cup holder and 2 side pockets. It has 5 point harness until 65 lbs just like the marathon. Yet when you are ready, you can use it as a booster with a back and seatbelt. Then when youare ready for next step.... you can use it as a backless booster. I got mine on sale at I think Walmart for $130 something. Now I LOVE the Marathon, but i have to say the cupholder and side pockets in the nautilus have me thinking if I had to do it again.......should have gone with the Nautilus as it has a longer life for less price. AGain, love my Marathon also
1. Marathon
2. No! He's adorable. Love his new pics by Jody
1. Britax Marathon
2. Leave the hair. I think you get a free pass until he's at least one.
Ditto! I love Max's hair!!!
1. We have the Marathon and love it. It goes up to 65lbs which is good considering Bailey is 23 1/2 lbs at 9 months. He's been in it since he was 8wks old and it made him much happier in the car.
2. I probably have the unliked opinion but I like little boys to have short haircuts. We had Bailey's cut right before he was 6 months old at Disney World. He's now needed another one for the last 2 weeks but I haven't had time to go get it. I think its what you want to do not what anyone else wants to do with him.
1) I have the boulevard CS. It clicks to let you know it's tight enough and I love it.
2) I wouldn't cut his hair b/c it's completely adorable. Everyone was on me to cut C's hair but I couldn't part with his baby look or his curls. Turns out I didn't have to part with the curls but he does look very 'grown up' now. You are the mommy so say no thanks I'll wait until I am ready. I'd wait until he starts looking 'girly'.
1. Marathon
2. He is so precious--no haircut required!
1. We just bought a Sunshine Kids Radian 80 SL. It has great safety ratings, has a narrow profile in the car, rear faces to 40 (or 45?) lbs, FF to 80 lbs and has a really high back. It also has a steel frame, so it impressed DH. We had a Britax Roundabout, but Sam's head was already at the top (and she's not that tall). The SK seat was super easy to install both with lap belt in my old Accord, and LATCH in my mom's Sienna.
2. Keep the cute hair!
We have the Graco Nautilus
We got Grant's 1st haircut when he was 6months old...but if you like it then leave it.
1. Britax Marathon
2. I would cut his hair, yes. And especially if DH wanted to.

1. We love love love our Britax Marathon. So easy to install. Also have a Graco ComfortSport but I do not reccommend that one for RF- way too hard to get it secure. It is fine for FF though.
2. Gavin had his first hair cut at 6 mos. It was so bad, I couldn't wait any longer. I always said he looked like an old man with a cheap toupee! My SIL is a hairstylist and wanted to do the first one so she just did it on the IL's back porch. The really good news is that Gavin's hair came in really think after that!
1. We love our cowmooflauge Britax Marathon.
2. His hair is fine! I just trimmed Oliver's around his ears but left everything else the same. I used the clippers that we cut the dog with just to make sure I wouldn't cut DS. I'm letting the rest grow- when else can he get away with bed head and still look adorable?!
1. Marathon for both boys. Love it!
2. I would just get a little trim around his ears, neck, etc.
ditto!
