Toddlers: 12 - 24 Months

I spent half of last night sleeping in a crib...

DS has been going through a phase of wanting to sleep with us, which I don't mind a couple of nights a week, but after a week of it, he grows increasingly more exhausted.

So when he cried in the middle of the night for me, and I couldn't bare to break my own rule of no babies in the bed, I climbed into his crib last night for the rest of the night.

Thank god we bought a decent crib that would support my weight too.

Any other moms out there as desperate to get there kids to sleep? I thought we were done at the 1-year mark...Tongue Tied

  • Hahahaha.  I have never ever slept in the crib.  You must be TINY!

I was nazi-like about co sleeping and our kids have never ever slept in our bed.  They went straight from the bassinet to their crib in the nursery.

Hope tonight goes better for ya.

  • I put a mattress on the floor, and that's where DS sleeps. When he cries out for me, I can sleep with him comfortably. It works!

FWIW, 19 months was the magic number for DS to start STTN!

    Hang in there!

  • Oh, there are a few mamas on here who have climbed in the crib with their LO. Me included : )
  • ::raises hand:: I've slept in DS's crib before too. It helps that I'm only 5'0" tall! I havent done it in a long time though, since I realized DS can step on me and launch himself out of the crib in about 5 seconds flat.

  • Never climbed in the crib, but that COULD be because we didn't kick her out of our bed until a few weeks ago.  Now she is in a twin bed, since we need the crib for LO on the way, but I still have to let her snuggle with me on the couch until she falls asleep, then move her.  Yesterday she was sick and slep practically all day, then was up till 5:30 in the morning!

Yep, we do the same.  Ds has been sleeping on a futon mattress on the floor for months.  One of us has been going in when he cries and taking turns sleeping the rest of the night with him.  We're turning his crib into bed this weekend so it will be more comfortable for everyone involved.
