For those who have had to take off your rings...

I had to stop wearing my engagement ring a couple of weeks ago, which I was ok with because my wedding band still fit. Yesterday though, I finally decided that the wedding band had to go too, since I have been waking up with VERY swollen fingers, and my knuckles feel very sore. I mentioned this to my MIL, about being unhappy that I would have to take off the ring, and she asked, "Does it fit on one of your other fingers?" She is a genious! I tried the band on my pinky finger and it fits! It's not on my ring finger, but I can now still wear my rings! Much better, IMO, than going to buy a replacement or substitute! Thought I would share. If you've had to take yours off, you might try them on your pinky finger!

I wish I could do that! My rings are too tight on my ring finger but too loose on my pinky! I just got a cheap ($10) bridal set.

Mine don't work on my pinky....I already tried. I bought a $10 replacement ring which lasted about 2 months. Then my fingers were finally swollen enough to wear a different ring DH gave me years ago. I can't wait to wear my real rings again!

I took my engagement ring off about 2 months ago and was able to wear my band still until about last week. I would rather not wear my wedding band than put it on my pinky finger.

Why not just go without rings? I haven't worn mine in over a month. If people think I'm single momma, so what?

I can still wear my rings but chosen not to wear them in the event I swell really bad and need to have them cut off. I had another set that I had brought for vacations and such...(not cheap by any means...about 800 or so) but thought I'd rather have those cut than my real expensive ones.

I just replaced mine with a ring that use to fit on a different finger. My pinkies are too small to wear my wedding band and my other fingers are too big.

Like you, I had to take off my engagement ring a while ago but my wedding band still fits (although barely...) I tried on my pinky, but no luck here either.

I took my rings off around christmas and didn't see the point in wasting money on a cheap replacement. I know I am married to my husband I don't give a crap if no one else knows.

I took my rings off about a month ago because my hands and feet starting swelling occasionally. The set is an interlocking one, and we had it fused, so wearing just the band was not an option. I had a gold rope chain with a safety clasp that was sitting in my jewelry drawer, so I put my rings on it, and wear that when I leave the house. I went ring-less for a week before a slighlty drunk, very country, twenty-something guy approached me in the store while he was shopping with his mother (yep, I bet he lives with her still). He followed me all around the store like a puppy and asked tons of questions about how pregnancy was treating me, did I love being a mom, etc. I know the ring-on-a-chain thing is such a "high-school" thing to do, but DH is happier (he's funny about things like not wearing rings).
