Thank you for this!! I was in the middle of reading, tried to click to go on page two and there was nothing left. Such a bummer. Always late to the juicy stuff. *shakes fist in the air* One day I'll see it from the first post... one day...

As I pointed out in the OP, I for one, will always remember. The backpedaling force is strong with that one.
Little Man (4 years old---holy cow) He's the single greatest thing I've done in my life and reminds me daily of how fun (and funny) life can be. He's turned out pretty swell for having such a heartless and evil mother.
She didn't delete her original post though, correct? Just the assinine one about IVF? She's over on her month board complaining about how mean we are. WTF, she crossed a line.
So I have a question, will I get banned if I put what she said in my siggy, along with her sn? Cause everyone needs to know what a peach she is. I don't give a rats ass that she apologized and dd'd. That was effed up.

what line was that? as someone else said,
"Oh my gosh, thank you SOOO much for posting this, I had no idea I was at
the FIRST trimester board. I totally didn't see the "puppies and
rainbows" rule posted at the door."
if you guys want a nasty sandbox, you can't really complain about lines being crossed.

Can I just say I love your panda picture? My fav is the star panda.. that is all.
Of course you can say you love it. I love it too. I didn't want a traditional panda picture so I googled "funny pandas". I thought it fit :-)

No, there's a difference between snark when replying to someone's rather naive post and just being a heartless wench.
You don't "joke" or make hurtful comments about infertility. You just don't.
What she said was completely insensitive and uncalled for. However, she apologized and said that she deeply regretted saying it. I know that doesn't magically change things or make them better, but really, how much longer are you guys going to beat this dead horse?

i don't think she was joking, she was asking where the empathy was.
face it, we can't objectively define snark. if you think it's funny, it's snark. but it's probably always hurting somebody's feelings.

Snark:
"Hey guys, do you think I'm pregnant? I feel dizzy"
Reply: "I don't know, put your vag up to your computer and let me see."
That is snark.
Cruel:
"Is that why you are like this? You want everyone to have as much trouble conceiving as you did?"
There's a big damn difference.
I really hope I'm not the only one who can decipher between the two.

hmmm... i like that you have used no real examples from the thread. how about this?
"You forgot the part where they can feel the spermie meet the eggie!"
and then there's this:
"::whispers:: She doesn't know. But she's totally 11 days late!"
what is this, high school?
and you know what? i see no difference, especially since multiple people were joining in the fun. i do see a decision on your part to think that your feelings are more significant than someone else's. to use a specific example, piecesofflair has a sig pic that says "this is what hope looks like"
why is it ok to not just squelch that hope, but belittle the person on top of it, making them feel stupid?
i'm sorry for anyone who has had trouble conceiving, but it's hard to take the moral high ground when you're standing in the ditch with everyone else.

Those comments were in good fun, we gave her info about her question, how she probably O'd late, we assumed (and assumed correctly) that she wasn't charting and so she couldn't know when/if she O'd. Several people have asked if you can feel the sperm meet the egg, that was all that was referencing.
Her comment was in much poorer taste than our snarky comments.
And with that, I reached bronze, thank you so much for being a douche and giving me more things to comment on.

If you can't see a difference in my example, or even in the example you supplied, then I'm sorry, I can't open your eyes.
Where have I said my feelings are more significant than anyone else's on here? There were people who were kind and helpful on the thread, and if you want to look, I never responded to the OP in that thread. I'm not going to be fake and try to be all "you could totally be pregnant" when IMO, I don't think that's the case.
No, I'm not a doctor, but I do know enough about hcg (which I posted in another thread) to know it would show up by now.
Yes, I know snark can hurt some e-feelings or make people feel a little stupid, but that's because of their own damn intelligence, or lack thereof. Most of the time, if these posters would hit the magical Google button, they'd get their answer.
Talking smack about someone's MEDICAL CONDITION is crossing a line. It has nothing to do with my feelings meaning more than anyone else's. And again, if you see no difference between the two, then I feel sorry for you.
i think you're making my point for me. this particular person did not say she could feel the sperm meet the egg, that was just brought up to belittle her. i realize that you think her comment was in poorer taste than the others, but you still can't explain why, can you?
If you can't see a difference in my example, or even in the example you supplied, then I'm sorry, I can't open your eyes.

of course you can't. because like i said, there is no objective definition for snark. and no one talked smack about a medical condition... it makes perfect sense to wonder why someone would be mean to a stranger who is asking for help. i wonder that every day i look at this board.
right here you are proving that your feelings matter more than hers. there were people who were decent in that thread, but there were also people who were cruel. you're essentially saying that it's ok because you think she's stupid. but... it's not ok if someone mentions a magic word that makes you hurt. right, gotcha.
really, it sucks that you guys are so bored, but i don't see why you have to take it out on other people.

FYI - Deleting doesn't always work.
For someone who had to resort to IVF, I thought maybe you'd have some sympathy for those TTC.
