So if you're not signing for it, and you're not putting in your PIN, how the heck are you authorizing it??? I'm sorry, I'm sure the system works (because obviously they would have gotten rid of it) but that would scare the CRAP outta me. I worked for a bank for 5 years and gas is the #1 thing that stolen cards are used for.
There are quite a few places you do sign the receipt and some you don't but you do get a receipt to verify what you are paying. I can tell you this is something I really miss about living in NJ. I hate pumping my own gas now.
Here's what I don't understand: the worker sets it up to pump and then LEAVES YOUR CAR? This is dangerous. In fact, in our state, it's illegal to leave your car while gas is pumping - I've personally had the automatic shut-off not work while pumping and have had gas spill everywhere. If I had been in the store or not paying attention when this happened, yikes.
If you're sitting in your car, waiting for the gas to finish, and it starts spilling over - it would take a bit to get out of the seatbelt, jump out, get to the pump and yank it out and off. Plus - in NJ, wouldn't you then be breaking the law? lol.

I love NJ and our non-pumping drivers LOL!
Pump those fists not gas!
I never tip and usually pay cash, but have used a creditc ard on occassion. I mean come on I don't always have cash on me lol!
Gas has a difference in price now if you pay cash or credit LOL!
