  I still don't have one, so I don't know what that means...I know they are less common in pale women and I am about as pale as they come!

  I have a faint line from my belly button down and I'm having a boy. So I guess it's not true for me.

  FWIW - I had one from Belly button down with DD, and have nothing at all this time and we are having a Boy.

  I feel like I'm starting to get one, but I only see it above my belly button.  Is that it?  I thought they were normally below the belly button??

  yea the book says it can be either or both, mine is really only super visable above the belly button, but it's still pretty light colored, I guess cause I am pretty pale skinned

  I am white and I have a very faint line that is just like a slight discoloration of my whiteness.  It does however start at my ribs and I am having a boy, so maybe that wive's tale has some merit.  However, everyone and their dog thought I was having a girl according to the other half a million wive's tales out there!

  I have a faint one, Belly button down and its a girl, so it holds true for me. It has been faint since about 8 weeks.

  Mine is faint, but it goes all the way up. And I think I'm also carrying low. Both would indicate boy, but 4 u/s have said girl!

  just wondering if the old wives tale in WTEWYE has proven true for you ladies who know the sex of you baby?

  the book says that if it is from your ribs down it's a boy, if it's just from your bellybutton down it's a girl - is that the case for you?

  I don't believe in old wives tales, but it's kind of fun to guess the sex of my baby anyhow - if this one works out to be true for me then I'm having a boy...:)

   

  I have actually heard the complete oppisite.. ribs downs girl and belly button down boy. My neighbors is ribs down and she is having a girl and my boss' is belly button down and she had a boy. Who knows!
