I am being induced tomorrow and I am having mixed feelings about it. They are only inducing me because I am past my due date, by one week as of tomorrow and their policy is to induce at 41 weeks. I really want a natural child birth and when I expressed to the doctor today that i was worried about the induction because everyone says the pain is worse the doctor told me just get the epidural. I am seriously considering not going to the induction. They have done no tests to show that she is too big or that there is anything wrong with her, I feel like they are just doing it to fit their schedule. Everyone says I am just overreacting and just get the induction, what do you girls think?

You do not have to be induced if you don't want to. Ask your doctor exactly what you asked us- Can they do an u/s to check baby and placenta to make sure everything is still ok? Can they order an NST for you? Ask exactly what the risks are of waiting a few more days... even if you decide to go ahead and get induced, I think you'll feel better having the answers to all of these questions, knowing you tried everything you can.
I've been there too, with DS. I was 41w 1d and nothing was happening. We had an NST and baby was doing great, so they gave me cervadil to try to get my cervix moving and nothing happened. No dialation, no softening, no effacement, nada. I ended up with a section because they didn't think I was a good candidate for an induction. I was upset, because I wanted to go all natural too... if you have any questions or want to chat, page me.
GL and hugs!
Going overdue is a valid reason for an induction, so if inducing at 41 weeks is your doctor's policy, it's unlikely that they're just doing it to fit into their schedule.
I don't think it'd be a good idea for you to just not show up for the induction. If anything, I'd suggest calling the doctor and relaying your concerns. I don't think worrying about the pain is enough reason to delay the induction if it's standard practice for your doctor, though.
I meant, "healthy baby."
