So, I called my SW today, and she said she did, in fact, tell the homestudy director to hold off on updating our homestudy, because she was waiting to find out if Peru wold consider us at the matching session on the 30th without the updated information (and we could just send it down after), or if we needed it before they considered us for the match. This was so stupid! Either way they'll need the updated information, so why wouldn't we just go ahead and get it done as soon as possible? What in carnation is the point in waiting?!?
I told her I'd like her to tell the homestudy division to make the change as soon as possible, and that I want it overnighted to my homestudy worker tonight. She said she would tell the homestudy people to go ahead with it, and they would do what they could to get it out today, but she couldn't guarantee that.
I waited about 40 minutes and then called the homestudy director's assistant, and she said she will do what she can to finish it today, but she has several other urgent requests for today, so she couldn't guarantee that it would be finished and sent out today. AUURRRGGGHHHH!!! All they have to do is change the age, and she told me on Friday she would prepare the draft for today!!!!!
So, I e-mailed my in-state homestudy worker, and asked her to e-mail me right when she gets the updated report, so I could pick it up from her the same day, rather than waiting for her to ship/mail it to us. Since I know she usually gets things notarized at work, I offered to meet her at a business with a notary on-staff and pay for the notarization if the notaries are out of the office (this delayed us about a week once before). She just replied that she's off this week (so thank goodness I made the offer about the notary), and that she wouldn't be available tomorrow, but that she would meet me on Wednesday morning if the homestudy arrives sometime tomorrow. So, I guess there's no need stressing about if they agency sends the document today or tomorrow, since I won't have it in hand until Wednesday either way.
At this rate, I don't have to worry about M having a stroke, because my blood pressure is likely so high, I'll have one first!
Although I've had many frustrations with the agency's delays, I've never contacted the director about them. I was seriously considering it now, but didn't want to be too much of a pain in the arse, since I've already contacted everyone else involved, and have assurances that it would be mailed in the next two days (and I'm trying to convince myself that one day won't really matter). Now, it all seems to be a moot point, since my homestudy worker won't be available to sign the thing until Wednesday anyway.
So, the earliest CIS will get it is Thursday, and it's now highly unlikely we'll have the completed paperwork before March 30th. BAH! ![]()
Re: My frustration level is through the roof
PAL/PGAL Welcome
UGH!!!!!!!
I'm so frustrated for you!! I'm happy to kick shins if you need me to.
This...and I was pretty sure I read before that a lot of people in your agency don't work on Fridays and Mondays? Is that right? Really? (Imagine me making a blank face right now) What other jobs get four day weekends all the time?
I was thinking this too. We're in the wrong business!
Yes, my SW works M-F. The homestudy director works T, W, and Th. Her assistant only works until noon (or 1 p.m.) on Fridays. They are never accessible when you need them, and if they are around, they can't get to what you need done, because they are always playing catch-up for all the stuff they missed when they are out. Of course, they'd never stay late to finish anything...even if they'll be out for the next 4 days. And then, they have the gall to complain that they are "so busy," they can't back to you in a timely fashion.
I think I've been a good sport so far, but I've about had it!
Yes. They deserve a kick in the shins. Use your ski boots so it hurts a lot Captain! I'm sorry they are such poos.
Oh, FMLB, this actually made me LOL! I could just see that now. The story in the police blotter would read:
A warrant has been issued for the arrest of a scorned client of a local adoption agency who assaulted several members of the agency's staff this afternoon. The suspect is a middle-aged female, and was last seen limping away from the downtown office, wearing black pants, a green sweater, and large, plastic, silver ski boots.
Teehee! "Limping away" the sound that ski boots make on bare ground too! ::Clip...clop...clip...clop::: ;D Get 'em girl!
