  When they start climbing out of their crib. It's beyond me why anyone would want to do it sooner.

  We moved DD at about 19 months.  We needed the crib for DS and did not want to get another one.  It worked great for us, she loves her big bed

  We did it about a week ago because DD started climbing out of her crib.  She LOVES her big girl bed.  We probably would have done it after she was 2 (22-23 months) so we could have the crib for our next one. 

  DD~6 years old~born June 6, 2008 (1st grade)
  DS~4 years old~born November 6, 2010 (1st year of preschool)

  We're doing it this week.  Ds hasn't slept in a crib for months and has been on a futon mattress on the floor.  He rolls around too much to be in a crib.

  We are going to move DD to a twin bed about a month before DC #2 comes.  We want to give her some time to adjust and get used to it.  So she'll be 21 months at the time.
