i just had one put in, actually its an intermediate one, because I won't allow them to xray me...I am thinking they hit a nerve because its killing me down into my hand. Just wondering if anyone has expirienced this with or with out being pg? TIA
Jack has had a few over the years, in his head and in his femoral artery... but never in his arm... and he was too young to tell us about paint. So, I'm not really helpful at all.
I think though, that it probably isn't supposed to hurt like that so you should definitely talk to someone about it.
I have had both a central line (in my chest pretty much right above my heart) and a PICC line in my arm.
Honestly, the PICC line was more painful b/c I kept using my arm. I would think soreness/ some pain would be normal when it is first placed. The line they are putting in is long and you body has to get acclimated to it.
It's in my left arm, the insertion spot is right above my elbow...I am hoping its just muscular and will wear off...ugh...
I bet it is. I was pretty sore after mine was placed. If you are still having pain tomorrow I would mentioned it as it could be poor placement or something more serious.
Re: anyone ever have a PICC line?
Ouch... I'm sorry...

Hope things are better very soon.
Where did they place it?
