I'm 18 and people tell me I look 16. I get really bad looks from people and sometimes it makes me feel bad.
My friend tried to make me feel better and made me a shirt that says 'I'm 18 and pregnant, so what?' I wear it all the time. But I still get looks. I know I'm young and I'm guna have a little girl or boy but I can take care of it. I have a plan and I have family support.
Have this ever happened to you? Any advice?
Re: Too young?
I'll be 18 on wed. And I think you are just as far along as me.
To answer your question, yes this has happened to me. No you are not too young. If you can take care of this baby I say go for it! Who cares what anybody else thinks!
If you don't want to get looks, why would you wear a shirt that calls attention to your age?
Yes, by the standards of most people, 18 is way, way too young.
Happy early b-day! ^_^
Yeah I think were about the same. Do you know what your having???
Thank you. And I'm having a baby girl.
Are you finding out the sex or waiting it out?
I just wear it b/c people think I'm younger than I actually am. I know it's none of there business but I always rebel against what everyone says I should do, so I made a choice to make people aware of how old I am and that I am guna be a mom and I'm proud to be 18 and be a momma. I don't think I'm too young...
Aaawwww, Congrats!
I'm finding out thursday. I can't wait it out, I'm far too anxious.
Have you gotten any names yet??
Like PP said, someone is always going to judge or make a comment about your situation. Human nature is to find fault in others so our own problems/issues don't seem as bad. It sucks, I've had a lot of rude comments or looks come my way.
Be thankful for your family support and it's great that you have a plan. There is a lot of support on here.
Curious, is Miki short for Mikayla? I'm naming my daughter Mikayla and her nicknames are M and Miki.
)
How exciting!! You better tell us what it is as soon as you find out! I cried when I found out the sex. I was so excited! LOL. I went out the next day and bought all of the bedding for her. I decided on Brynlee Naomi. What do you think it is, or do you have no idea?
But to most of us, 18 is only marginally better than 16. Marginally.
The fact that you're proud to "be a momma" at 18 is pretty much proof positive that you're too young.
There is always going to be someone who thinks you're too young. There is no magic age for getting married or having kids.
You have to do what is best for yourself. As long as you can support and take care of your child properly you will be fine.
Screw off. Is she supposed to be distraught? Pregnancy is supposed to be a time of joy and happiness, not self pitty. Show a little respect for others or get the fvck off this board. I'm tired of trolls like you showing your faces around here.
(Sorry Laurie, this isn't classy at all but they have me boiling today. First with the dog post and now this? I'm pissed)
Are you just trying to be nasty? Obviously she's dealing with alot at her age and is turning the negatives into a positive and is doing her best as a young woman, why do you feel so compelled to tear her down? Whats wrong with you?
But wearing a t-shirt that showcases the fact that you're a pregnant teenager and then whining about getting looks is pretty freaking stupid.
Thanks.
Yeah it is, but my name is spelled Micaela. But it's the same thing.
So would you rather her be ashamed of herself?
Someone who is 18 years old can step up and be a good parent. Not all 18 year olds leave their kids to be raised by the grandparents, or on the street, or in garbage cans.
So her spelling on an internet forum isn't correct, That does not put some sort of doom on her child.
Such a pretty name.
I actually have no idea what it is. Everyone tells me different. But I just want it to be healthy. I can't wait to know.
I will let everyone know on thursday or early friday. ^_^
I agree. You might as well wear an "I'm with stupid" shirt with an arrow pointing up.
As a side-note, when did this board become babygaga?
Referring to the fact that we have 2 teens on this board? I'm sorry. When did you become a single mother?
to me age is only a number - to an extent. (ie. I think it would be wrong for a 12 yo to date a 20 yo but for a 22 to date a 30 is a different story)
If you have yet to finish high school, no ambitions of working, prefers partying every weekend, into drugs or gangs... other things like that I would say yes you are too young...
If you have a good head on your shoulders, a plan to better yourself (ie, college), a job (movitation to work)... other things like that I would say no your not.
ETA: I AM a proud momma!!! and if that makes me "young" for saything that then so be it. I wouldnt trade my life right now for ANYTHING!!!!
I'm showcasing anything, I'm just proud to be 18 and mom. So deal with it.
Your being really mean and just leave me alone, I need a little support and that's it. So just go you mean hag. I'm being strong for me and my baby and if you can't that, screw you.
Funny how an open internet community works.
Thank you.
Everyone told me girl. I swore up and down she was a boy. LOL!
Bingo! So your comment means nothing to me.
I am finishing high school. I graduate in May.
I am taking a year off though to take care of my baby, and then I'm going to college.
As long as you keep posting. You provide great amusement with your nuggets of wisdom.

Sweetie... please ignore the rudeness getting thrown at you for reasons unknown to those of us that have common damn sense on this board!!
You could be 30 and using PlanB or abortion as birth control, but youre not! You have your baby and you be proud of yourself and your children and screw ANYBODY that thinks anything negative about you... God gave you your kids for a reason and it is NOT to be down on yourself.
P.s. I think the shirt is cute, its funny and you wear it girl. Im gonna make some shirts that say "Im rude on thebumb.com because no body cares about me in real life" and send them to a few people!
Wearing a t-shirt that says "I'm 18 and pregnant. So what?" is just showcasing the attitude of a petulant teenager.
I'm not insisting that you be ashamed of yourself. I certainly would if I had gotten pregnant at your age, but that's your deal. Do not, however, be surprised when your childish behavior gets you looks or comments from adults.
Okay darling, you win. Good day now.
Thanks a lot for thinking I'm stupid. I'm stupid and I'm proud to be 18 and mom. I can show what I am to everyone and not be ashamed. I'm strong and I can take critism for this, but I don't care. I know the truth and you know nothing. I wear the shirt to make a point that I'm young and I'm guna be a mom, thats my life, not yours.
You are a very strong woman. I think you have handled this beautifully. With that being said, don't let anything anybody tells you on here get to you. They have a stick up their ass today.
I'm not surprised that I get looks. The only thing that runs through my mind when I get looks is that your srupid and you know nothing. Yeah I have an attitude and I am teenager. So DEAL WITH IT!!!!!
My kid will be brought up better than most kids because I know how life is and I've lived through it. I'm sorry we can't all be perfect!
No wonder you think everyone is looking at you. Not everything in life is literal.
But you're upset that people are judging you for being a young mom. Drawing attention to it with a tee shirt isn't going to attenuate that negative attention. People will judge lots of things that you do, but you'll get less attention for it if you don't draw attention to it yourself.
My Lunch Blog
You just very lonely and bitter aren't you? Are you ttc? I dont see any ticker or anything....what business do you have over here? You look pathetic bullying a young mother because shes being responsible and sticking up for herself. Get ahold of yourself wierdo
No actually I didn;t, and that is none of your business. Stupid.
