drool rash

It seems that DS has drool rash, I have not taking him or talked to his ped but I am guessing thats what it is! It just showed up yesterday under his bottom lip! I feel so bad for him but it doesn not seem to be bothering him one bit. Is there something u can do or put on it?? TIA

Re: drool rash

  • My sil said you could put a little chapstick on it (that's what her ped said.)

  • Our Pediatrician suggested a little bit of vaseline as a barrier, and to just do your best to keep his mouth area dry by gently patting it with a soft cloth when he drools.
  • My family doctor said a little bit of diaper cream usually does the trick.

I brought DS in when his skin was red, puffy, cracked and peeling, and he suggested in that situation the smallest smear of hydrocortisone once a day for 3 days, and diaper cream the rest of the day. That's only if it gets ugly bad. Smile
