Norah desperately needs new shoes. Her feet grow so stinkin' fast. I hate spending a lot of money (more than Target prices), but I want to get good quality shoes for her feet. Where do you buy your kids shoes?

I buy robeez (not the soft soled ones), they last well and I plan to use them on more than one kiddo, so it's worth the extra money for me

DS lives in his baby Vans my sister picked him up from an outlet... after he outgrows those, he has some Converse high-tops waiting... probably not the best for his feet... but they're pretty stinkin cute.

Most of ours are hand-me-downs from my boss. DD also has several pairs from Kohl's. The kid has more shoes than me. It's kind of sad.

Am I the only one that doesn't like to use hand me down shoes? It's very un-EF of me. =(

I think I was just always told that the shoe forms to the foot a bit so it's not good to share/re-use?

Please, someone correct me if I'm wrong.

1. I accidentally clicked on specialty shoe store, sorry!

2. We buy (mostly) robeez or pediped, except for a pair of shoes we got off of baby bargains. LIke them, they last, and for better or worse, we really only have 1 or two shoes that DS wears at a time, and since we don't spend much on clothes (hand me downs or consignment, mostly) we go ahead and pend the extra $20 or so above what we would for shoes we like and work well. A lot of the cheaper things we've tried just don't fit well, wear quickly, or don't even stay on his feet, so what is the point?

i said Target, but i'm realizing the last few pairs i've gotten him came from Old Navy or Kohls. so really, i guess anywhere that i can find a deal.

I have heard the same, but I figure that since they are baby shoes, they weren't worn that often so how could it conform to a babies foot? KWIM?

Now I will not buy used shoes for myself. The only used shoes ds has are hand-me-downs from my nephew and he grew out of them so fast that they are practically brand new.

And I won't have any more hand me downs after size 5 (my nephew started wearing shoes a lot at that size and wore the ones he had out)

We have to go stride rite because N's feet are so wide that he wears a double extra wide and the cheaper places just don't carry shoes that fit him properly. I figure when it comes to proper foot development, I'd rather splurge and save elsewhere. But I hear you. 50-60 bucks every 3 months really hurts.

True, my boys are at an age now where they wear the shoes out anyway, so no handing down! I also only buy one (two at the most) pairs per size.

we have been blessed with a lot of barely worn hand-me-downs, including shoes. Unfortunately, my son has VERY wide feet (dunno how, neither DH nor i have wide feet, mine are very narrow...) so now most of the hand me down shoes aren't working for us. I took him to stride rite to have him measured, then found some used stride rite shoes in his size with very little wear. Honestly, the only times he wears them are playing outside, and sometimes at the store or running errands. The rest of the time, he's in stocking feet or slippers or barefoot. It is much better for their foot and leg development than having them in shoes a lot. I only will put him in used shoes if there is very minimal to no wear in them.

i'm currently struggling trying to find rain boots for him. Everywhere carries them with hearts and unicorns, but nothing remotely gender neutral or boyish. I think i will have to break down and get some from lands end if i don't find anything soon. Our town sorely needs somewhere to buy quality kids shoes. All we have is walmart and payless. it is really pathetic.
