    For a first name = No. It is a little too plain for me.
    Married 5/31/08 * TTC#1 9/09 - 2/11
    after anovulatory diagnosis and TTC for 1 1/2yrs with several medicated cycles and one chemical pregnancy, we have our first bundle of joy!

    I would have thought plain if I didn't have a student named Jane who was a pretty dynamic/outgoing kid.

    I also love the Barenaked Ladies song Jane, so I might be biased.

    I love it as a first name.  I feel like as a middle name it's slightly generic.

    I think its pretty and classic.

    Is it plain compared to all of the crazy mispelled names of today? Probably. But thats a GOOD thing.

    I love Jane as a first name.  Love Janie/Janey as a nickname too.  It's really cute on little girls and it will age well.

    I think that names have been getting a bit too fancy and frankly weird lately.  A nice, simple, classic name such as Jane is refreshing and feminine.
    I give up trying to get a ticker.  I have a DD that is 2.5 years old and is awesome.  Maybe I'll add a quote to distinguish myself.  Hmmm.  How about...

    I prefer Jane as a middle name, but I think it could be cute as a first name! I really like the nickname Janie too. It would be super cute on a little girl, and then she would have Jane to go by when she was older if she preferred.

    My 6 mo old DD is Jane Collett (Collett is a family name.) I ADORE it obviously, and I cannot tell you how many compliments I get on it. So many people comment on how "refreshing" it is, whatever that means!

    Janice, Janette and Jana are No and I even like old lady names.
