Woman kills MIL with a plastic spoon

At least that's what I wanted to do this morning!!

Everything is going great this morning until after waking and feeding Derek he proceeds to spit up quite a bit all over himself, me, and his changing table while I'm changing his diaper. So I change his clothes and take him to my bed thinking he's ok now and start changing clothes when he spits up again all over our comforter. I put him in the bumbo and he's content while I throw the comforter in the laundry room. I run back when I hear him cry and he's on the floor because he managed to climb out of the bumbo. At that moment I'm near tears and MIL comes in and says "you're going to be late, why aren't you ready to go?" Really?! Seriously?

Re: Woman kills MIL with a plastic spoon

  • oh um... bless you for not saying something ugly!  that would have been hard not to kill her with the plastic spoon.  LOL

  • I saw the title of this and thought, "It wasn't me, I swear!"

Sorry she's adding to your agitation.    Hope your day gets better.

  • My all-time FAVORITE MILism (and man, I could write a book on my MILisms) was when P was having her first growth spurt and she cried ALL DAY LONG.  MIL wanted to visit and hang out (not really help) and I told her it wasn't a good time bc P was so fussy.  MIL said, "Eddy NEVER fussed."

Guess what?  This time when there is a crying spell or growth spurt, I am not going to feel the need to do it myself.  I am going to walk across the yard, hand the baby to MIL (since she is such an expert) and then walk back to my house and take a nap.  In my 2nd time Mom wisdom, this is one of those instances where if someone thinks they can do a better job, LET THEM!

  • The title of this post made me think of the line from Robin Hood where he says "because a spoon is dull you twit, it'll hurt more."  I totally wish your son would have thrown up all over her right at that moment, can you teach kids to do that?

Makes me glad my MIL lives 12 hours away.

  • LOL @ your title but not at what you went through.  Sorry your day start off so bad.  I hope the rest of your day gets better.  I hate mornings like those but at least I didn't have my mil annoying me!!!

  • What a rough morning!  I'm sorry that Derek isn't feeling well and that it happened when you were trying to go somewhere.  All of these posts about MILs sure does make me appreciate my IL's more, though.  They're coming this weekend so hopefully I can remember that if they start to get on my nerves.  :)
