I had my shower this past saturday and got over 700 8-14llbs size 1 diapers. Will I need that many?? I can return one box of about 250 diapers and go the next size up, but not sure....What do you think?
I'm sure it's different to each baby but my DD stayed in each size for about a month until hitting size 4.......she's STILL in size 4 now at 21mos lol.
I also liked them a bit bigger so I didn't get leaks and blowouts. And DD was 8lbs2oz at birth and was always in the 90th (+) on weight.
DD was in size 1s for several months... they do go through about 9-11 a *day* when they're really little, then it might slow down to 7-9... so you'll blast though quite a few of those pretty quickly unless your kid is growing super fast. But, if you are worried it's too many it couldn't hurt to return one box and get 1-2's or 2's.. the baby will need them at some point anyway!
That is a lot of diapers in size 1! honestly It depends....
DD was 6 pounds at birth and we were in newborn diapers until she was almost 8 weeks old. We had 200 before she was born and still bought 2 jumbo boxes.
If you plan to breast feed they need to be changed every time you feed them (every 2 hours), and sometimes they go as they are eating or right after you changed them, so you need to change them again day and night. You can estimate how many diapers you will need and then return some of the excess and get NB or size 2.

I would say you have a pretty good amount. Between our house, and daycare I think we went through about that many sz 1 diapers. Do not open them all because you can return the unopened packages for another brand, or size.
don't remember. I do recall NOT using newborn size for very long...and size 1 for only a short time as well, it all depends on how big YOUR baby is, and how fast they grow.
DD was in size 1's the longest (a good 8-9 months) so for her, it would be great. I am thinking you average about 8 a day making that many last about 90 days. Seems about right. I would keep them and you can always donate the extra or give them to a friend.

You could always see how many you use and then see if you can exchange the extra packs for size 2.
My guess is that you'll be in size 1 for a few months (the average sized baby is) and will likely use a lot of them.
