Obviously in the car you use a car seat, but how do you take LO in places... Especially when it's just you, I have a really hard time carrying the carrier, My carrier fits into the stroller but the stroller is also huge and heavy, like one of those travel systems. I probably need to purchase something.
What are your recommendations?

We have a Snap N Go, not a travel system, and I love, love, love it if I have to go anywhere. It's so light and easy when I'm by myself with him.
If it's somewhere with a cart (Target, grocery store, etc), I put his carseat in the cart - again, if I'm by myself.
I just ordered a Moby wrap because DS is being a clingy momma's boy lately, so we may have a new favorite method in a while.

For those ladies who use carriers in-store, is it a hassle to take LO out of the carseat and put him/her in the wrap/sling/carrier in the parking lot? Did you do, like, practices at home, LOL? I can just see me, struggling to gingerly put our LO in the sling we have, in the grocery store parking lot while baby screams and I try not to cry.
Ella hates her car carrier, so once I get her out of there she usually stops crying. With the Moby and the Ergo I can put these on ahead of time and then just have to get her situated in them. She loves being held on my chest so even if she is a little fussy when I'm first getting her in, she calms within moments. It has gotten easier with use and I have def. gotten faster. There are several videos on youtube for the Moby and those helped me alot. Seeing someone else not only put the wrap on, but put a baby in the wrap made a HUGE difference.
I totally agree! DS will sometimes fall asleep in his car seat and will more likely fall back asleep in the Moby than stay asleep in the car seat. We took the stroller to the mall once, I ended up carrying him while DH pushed an empty stroller. I also put the Moby on before leaving the house. I have a Beco that I put him in in the car then put that on.
MrsR- i use an over 1 shoulder sling/messenger backpack and it works great! Mine has a buckle on the srap to so I can take it off and on w/o having to lift it over Ella's head.
Oooh, can you link me to it? I have thought about a backpack but the Beco straps are so thick I'm not sure it will work.
I usually wear her in the moby whenever I take her out alone. Although I took the carseat into the Dr's and target yesterday because I was hoping she would sleep during that time so I didn't want to transfer her for a quick trip into Target.
And I couldn't exactly wear her during my 6 week checkup...

If I'm just going to a store to get groceries or pick up a few things, I use the Moby. Watch the Youtube videos - they help. I also tie the Moby on me before I leave the house so I'm not dragging it along in a dirty parking lot. My LO doesn't always like it at first, so I usually spend 2-3 minutes rocking and bopping around by my car just to make sure he settles down before I venture into the store.
If DH is with me and we're going for a major shopping trip or if I'm walking the mall alone, I take the carseat/stroller combo.
