This was posted on the bfing board and I thought I'd see what you ladies think.

The poster on the bfing board thought it was gross. I disagree. So I ask you, would you eat something made from another woman's breastmilk?
Re: Breast milk cheese offered at NY restaurant
I would eat it if it was made from MY breastmilk
this.
it just really creeps me out. i might would consider it(if i had to) from my own milk but not from someone else.

I guess what strikes me is that we eat things from random cows all the time with no problems. I don't know why human milk would be different.
DH won't even drink my breastmilk. I have. I don't guzzle it (I save that for DS) but I have tasted it.
It probably wouldn't be my food of choice but I wouldn't be weirded out by it.
I have tasted mine, but I would not drink it. And I would NOT drink someone else's.
We also EAT random cows, but we don't eat people.
I am very pro BFing, but that weirds me out. I tasted my own a couple times to make sure it was okay, but I've never taken an actual sip, nor do I think I could eat cheese that was made, even from my own breastmilk.
That's just ME though. There are a lot of foods I thinka re gross that other people eat happily, and I'm just fine with that, so I wouldn't judge or anything.
lol this 10000%
Well, I wasn't advocating cannibalism! I just think milk is milk.
I don't think it's gross necessarily but I don't understand why you'd want BM cheese. Just seems strange to me. I just think BM is for babies.
Oh and I totally argree that it's kinda weird to drink milk from random cows. I'm a dairy whore so I would never give it up but I can see someone's point when they think it's gross.
Nope, nor would I eat something made with my own breastmilk. However, I wouldn't be opposed to serving breastmilk cheese to Moses, if I made it with my own milk.
No, in fact my sis says that when she has a baby they will make some out of theirs. Not for public consumption, just for personal use.
Then I started EBFing and thought...yeah, you "waste" some of that precious liquid gold to make cheese. Don't think so.
I think what is weird about is that a cow has no cognitive awareness that you are drinking it's milk. However, you COULD potentially run into some woman on the street who donated her breast milk and have a whole conversation with her about how good her breast milk cheese was at dinner last night. And THAT is what is weird about it to me.
