dumb question about swim diapers

If they're not meant to contain pee, only poo, could I just use Thirsties covers or a HH pocket without the insert?

The swim diapers seem like a waste of $10 and a lot of room in my suitcase Smile

    I Think this was discussed a few weeks back and yes you should be able to use a cover of sorts and skip the disposable swim pant.  Swim diapers are not absorbent, if they were they'd soak up pool/lake water and be one puffy diaper.

    I wonder if the PUL is different on swim diapers (1mm vs 2mm?) so that it can take the extra beating of the chlorine?  I'd imagine that Thirsties would be perfect for short term...I just wonder about the whole summer...

    Not a dumb question.  Yes, they only contain poop, and I experienced that as Evan was sitting on my lap right before swim class.  He peed while sitting on my lap.  Fun. 

    We love Bummis and the Imse Vimse ones.  We chose to buy the swim diapers since I'd rather have those (then our good dipes) take a beating to the chlorine.
