s/o Changing Sheets (with bumpers)

Is there some trick I'm missing about changing sheets with a bumper on the crib?

Every time I try to change the sheet, I end up sweating, cursing, trying to shove the mattress past the bumper, the bumper getting all smashed under the mattress, the sheet then pulling up the side of the mattress because it doesn't fit... I swear, it's like the hardest thing ever.

Do I seriously have to untie all 12 little ties and take the entire bumper off to do this?

    I'm the same way! DH and I always do the "I did it last time, its your turn" thing about this issue lol

    I untie one long side and one short side of the bumpers. Yep, its still a PITA.. but easier than untying them all and it saves my knuckles and sanity.

    This is why I removed DS' bumper.  After about the 2nd try by myself while DH was at work, which ended with me feeling like I'd just wrestled an alligator, I took the bumper off.

    I slide the bumper up, take the sheet off the bumper, but a new sheet on, and slide the bumper back down.... Why would you have to untie / take the bumper off?

    So you're not taking the mattress out of the crib when you change the sheet? I don't know if I could get my fingers around the edge to get a sheet on without taking the mattress completely out.

    DH does it but the mattress doesn't come out.  I also don't think he unties any of the bumper.  But he does it b/c I lose my patience.

    We have a breathable, but I usually just end up taking it off and putting it back on.

    I lift the mattress, but do not take it out

    To avoid having to change my son's bed sheet, we use a crib sheet on top of his bed sheet. The crib sheet (also waterproof) just snaps on and is easy to take off and put on.

    LOL!  I just went through this again on Saturday!  I am thinking I must start untying my bumpers.  BLAH!
