s/o yellow edge GMD - how long?

how long did your LO wear the yellow edge prefolds? now that they're the direct jump from orange edge it might be different for some but i guess if you know what age/poundage your LO outgrew them that would give me an idea. i assume it's def longer than the orange edge fit??

We didn't use GMD orange edge but instead used the Bummis newborn sized prefolds which are roughly the same size and by the time DS outgrew the newborn size the yellow were only a tad bigger so we skipped the yellow and went to red. But again, I had a chunker so I think that has some to do with it. I can't remember how old though. Then the red edge lasted for freakin' forever for us because he slimmed down a lot. We only just switched to the brown edge about a month ago at 15 months.

Now that Julia has solid poo, we've ditched the snappi and just tri-fold the prefold into the cover. Yellow edges are still going strong in our house! The reds that we have are too big for tri-folding, but those fit perfectly with the snappi. I would guess that she is around 17-18 pounds.

I never knew there was anything between orange and yellow til that post! Funny! Noah is 6 months and close to 20 lbs and can still wear the yellow edge. We ordered and prepped some red edge but they seem huge on him. I bet he'll be in yellows for a few more weeks!

We didn't have the orange edged but we had another sized newborn when they were starting to get too small where around 7 to 8 weeks (she was 8lbs 9oz at birth) We got a few yellow and a few red to see how they fit we didn't order anymore yellow because we could fold the red down it fit just fine and we knew she would be out of the yellow soon. We were able to get the yellow on her until about 3 months but they were tight.

She was 10lbs 5oz at one month visit

11lbs something I forget at 2 month visit

14lbs 140z at 4 month visit.

Right now we are using both red edge and brown edge the red we still fit her for a while longer. When they had the sale one 2nds at GMD I got some larger ones and I'm able to use them also I just need to fold the back down more.

THat is funny we had to stop using yellow a while ago it was getting to hard to snap them over the belly while she was moving around and also she has a pretty big rise. I cannot wait to be able to use them in a tri fold

I think part of this depends on what fold you use. We've been using the jelly roll fold for a few months and we're still in the yellows. LO is about 16 lbs now, and has been 95th percentile for height (not necessarily indicative of rise length, I know, but he's not a short kid). I bet we'll be able to use them at least a few more weeks with the snappi. He tends to outgrow the rise before the width.
