Here's an article from the National Highway Traffic Safety Association about when to replace a car seat if it's been in an accident. I know you said your insurance adjustor would determine if you needed a new one or not, but I thought you might like to see this too just in case they are trying to save themselves a buck by telling you you don't need one. Hopefully you don't. :)
