I'm coining a new term: sleepcation

Sleepcation: freedom or release from one's household duties, including but not limited to, care of minors, laundry, and cleaning, in an effort to regain a small amount of the sleep one has missed since bearing children. Used in a sentence: "I am on a sleepcation and have no intention of returning to my home until lunch time tomorrow."

Ahhhh....bliss.  The children are home with Daddy and I'm in a room at the Hampton.  I even got a free upgrade and my room is so great...I'm catching up on all of the episodes of The Office that I have missed.  I ate a huge dinner and my nails are painted.  I may never leave.

    YEAH!!!  We are on a sleepcation together!!  I posted yesterday or maybe the day before on how I wanted to run away.  DH (kind of) surprised me today with a hotel room for tonight and tomorrow night!  Unfortunately, I have to do some homework while I'm here but honestly...I'm so looking forward to being able to just focus on my studies!  It felt so weird packing today and then checking in by myself but now that I'm in my room I'm so happy!!

    YAY!  I saw your post about needing to run away, I can't remember if I replied or not.  Sleepcations are the best!  I'm jealous you get two nights ;)  hahaha  Even though you have work to do, I hope you get lots of time to relax and be lazy.  I know what you mean about packing and leaving, it was weird for me, too.  Tomorrow I plan on taking like a 30 minute shower.  And shaving my legs.  I know, it's a little crazy...hahaha

    I stopped on my way here to get a bottle of bubble bath!!!  I realized once I got here that I forgot my razor but I might run out and get one tomorrow.  There's an indoor pool so I'd really like to use it!

    Ooooh, I am SOO jealous!  I would kill for a sleepcation right about now!  I am going away next Friday night (to attend a lactation conference) but am so looking forward to a night alone in a hotel room.  Just not having to read bedtime books to someone will be a treat.  ENJOY!!!!

    Nice! That's why I've loved the business trips I've had to make to San Francisco (where my office is) since DS was born. I work during the day, then get to sit and read for hours on end and sleep as much as I want to in a room paid for by my company (and it's usually a pretty kick-ass room, too). Pure, sweet bliss.
