I have been thinking a lot lately that I want to cut all of DD's hair off. It is such a pain and we have to pull it up all the time in either a bun or braids so it does not get in her food. She hates to have it brushed and I have to use really good conditioner or we can't comb through it.
Maybe we just need a good trim?
Has anyone tried the wen? hair stuff on the infomercial, the one with Jenny Garth?

Her hair is gorgeous! I'd keep it if I were you.
I'm sort of having the same debate about K's hair...she wants it "long like a princess" and won't let me put it up/back most days, and it ends up just looking messy. She has a major cowlick in the front, so her bangs don't lay right, and I'm not really sure what to do with it anymore. If she didn't look like a ragamuffin all the time, I wouldn't consider cutting it, but...

No way would I cut that gorgeous hair! What about using a leave in conditioner, would that make it easier to comb through?
My dd has had long & short hair (she cut it herself, grrrrr). Anyhow, the long hair is much easier. Short hair HAS to be styled or it's a mess. So everyday I had to either blow dry her hair or wet her hair down to get it to look halfway decent. The ponytail route is much easier and I'm so glad it's long enough again that we have options.
I always use either a leave in or a detangler. I know it would be hard if it were short because it's not all the way straight or curly.
Headbands don't work because it's so long it will still fall in front of her shoulders.
I guess it's ponytails and braids for us.
I wouldn't cut it, her hair looks so healthy and well kept. I cut 4-5inches off of DD's hair right after she turned 2 into a bob and while it looked super cute and was easy for the summer, I really missed it longer and I definitely had more options for her with it longer.
My DD loves to have her hair french braided, pigtails, buns etc. so that isn't a problem for us - I usually let her watch TV or make it fun for her somehow when doing her hair and of course I am always as gentle as possible (I'm sure you are as well). Maybe let her do her doll's hair while you do hers? HTH
