  sell by dates are a week or more off of the actual expiration date.

  I do this all the time too.

  In fact, the yogurt I ate today said Best By Feb 17.

  I smell it and take a small taste to make sure its still ok.  I do this all the time and I haven't gotten sick yet (::knocks on wood::)  I just hate wasting food.

  The expiration date doesn't both me, but caramel yogurt doesn't sound good to me.
