So this will be my second pregnancy and we just found out what it was. A girl.
With our first we both did not want to know at all. This might not happen to you but just in case wanted to share.
We both knew we did nto want to know and I was on the boards once and Iasked about the 3D ultrasounds that for htose ladies that had them if you could tell by looking at the pic's the sex of teh baby. Well most women said no not really. I asked that because Ididnt want to chance having them done and then knowing what the baby was because we so wanted to wait.
Let me tell you that it was hard that everytime we had an ultrasund we had to tell them WE DONT WANT TO KNOW. One time the doctor ( a hi risk doc inever met) walked in as the tech was finishing the ultrasound and he said " oh He looks fine no worries" I was mad, but my dh said well maybe he calls everybody a HE. So i put that out of my mind and said maybe dh is right.
Well I had one last u/s( by the way we never did the 3/4 D u/s) maybe at 8month and I asked the tech if she could see the baby's face? I asked that because every other u/s the baby would turn away and becuse i was on some category c meds that could possibly cause that cleft lip thing I was always worried. So the tech said oh yea i can see the babies face so she took a picture and gave it to me when I was done. I didnt think she was going to take a 3/4 D picture and when she gave it to me I went to the waiting room, dh was waiting for me. I sat down and just stared at the picture and told my dh this is a boy isn't it?!! He looked at the pic wondering how the heck can i tell and he just stared at it for a few minutes too and said " wow ithink ur right it's a boy" Again we tried hard to make up excuses liek "oh baby is all swollen in there there is no way we can tell we are crazy. But as soon as my family and friends saw the picture EVERYBODY said yup its a boy . Well sure enough we did have a boy. I have seen other freinds have those 3/4 D u/s and I have always been able to see the sex of teh baby it's weird and I ahve always been right.
Sooooooooooo just in case if you dont really want to know maybe think twice about doing those 3/4 D pic's or make it a point to always tell the techs and doctors YOU DONT Want to know everytime cuz they do forget !!! Good luck to everyone Hugs
Re: Team Green Gals want to share something with you.
Thanks for sharing your story. EVERYONE wants us to go to a 3/4D but I am very against it for this very reason. I want everything about the baby to be a surprise...we did get a DVD of our 19.5 week U/S but the tech was VERY GOOD and you defiantly can't tell anything (baby was nice enough to cross his or her legs too).
