A good ole MP question (please calm me down, lol)

About a half hour ago I went to the bathroom and saw little spots of yellowish/tannish colored discharge on my pantyliner.  Not too much, just a little bit, and I was a little nervous at first but remembered that I had an internal at my OB appt yesterday and that sometimes stuff might come out from them being all up in there.  It still didn't make me feel too much better, because it had been a whole day since my appt, and I had showered since then and any of the goop that they use, I figured had probably all been washed away.  And it wasn't blood... it was too pale and yellowish.

So anyway, while wiping after my use of the bathroom, I get a little glob of something on the TP, same color as what was on my liner.  Only this thing was more "3-D" if you know what I mean, not just what looked like the liquid on my liner.  Very cloudy looking with the same pale yellow/brown color.  However, there was not much of it.

Could it be part of my MP?  From what I've been told (and from what it sounds like in the books I ran to right away to check) it sounds like the MP is a lot bigger and comes out all at once.  Could this have been just a part of my MP?  (It was a little smaller than the size of a dime).  Just wondering if it can come out in pieces.  I'm also wondering if the color is even right.  My books didn't give me a color reference.  Finally, does this mean that labor will be happening soon?

Thanx soooooo much!

  • You can loose pieces of your MP without losing the whole thing. It doesn't necessarily mean anything is going to happen though, because your MP can grow back.

I lost mine 2 weeks ago. I have no idea if it grew back or not, but I'm not in labor, so there ya go. :)

  • You could always google for pictures of mucus plug and compare although I hear that is traumatizing and I don't want to go there!
  • Your MP can definitely come out in pieces and like pp said, if it comes out early it will just grow back.  No reason to freak out.
