another green poo question - weird

So, is it possible for poo to change color after being in the diaper?  Like, oxidize or something?  DS has dairy/soy/beef (??) issues and I'm clean for 2.5 weeks now.  I'm off eggs too, but am going to try to reintroduce that in a week and see what happens.  I haven't seen the green poop for awhile.  (Until I had beef stew, then we saw bright green poops again - good bye freezer full of steaks!!) But, we see one green poop at night when it's been a long time since I changed his diaper.

The reason I question this is, when I took a diaper into the pedi, it was green.  It wasn't green when I first changed him.

At any rate, his poops are non-seedy and the right colors, but still mucousy and there's the occasional streak of blood.  I'm trying to wait this out.  He's gaining like a champ and eats fine, so I just have no idea what to do...

Re: another green poo question - weird

  • I think it's normal to change colors. (We cloth diaper, BTW, I don't want you to think we're archiving our dipes.) By the time we get our poopy diapers home from Day Care they are an olive green color. Our daughter has no known food issues and I've even seen it at home. If I can't find time to rinse the diaper right after I change her I have come back to find a dirty green color instead of the bright orange I know I changed.
