Registering and birthing classes

How far along were you when you set up your registry? And when will you be doing your birthing classes?

I started registering at 24 weeks. You just need to beat out shower invitations. :-) For classes, I will do those in April, so two months before my due date. The hospital gives us a "desirable" time in the pregnancy to go to classes, so check when you sign up.

I started when my mom was in town at 24 weeks. I would've started at 20 weeks right after we found out the sex, but wanted to wait and do it with my mom.

My birthing classes are actually going to be in like 2 weeks and I'll only be 27 weeks along. It's the only weekend that I'm guaranteed to have DH there the whole time d/t his work schedule. I'm glad I started looking at classes early because of this, otherwise I probably would've ended up going to them by myself.

I was 18 weeks along when we started the registry.

I do plan on taking birthing classes -- Mine actually start tomorrow night, classes are for four weeks, they run about 3 1/2 hour each time -- looking really forward to them.

I've done my registry online item by item over the course of a few months. (I liked to research strollers, cribs, etc. before picking the one that seemed to make the most sense for us.) Also, it made it easy to go back & add something if I came across something I liked in the meantime.

As for birth classes we're doing Bradley which is a bit longer than most. We start next week and it'll run through week 36. If we'd done the weekend one at the hospital, I'm sure we would have waited longer to go.

Do you have ideas for what you're going to be doing with either?

My EDD is July 10; and I just got done registering (20 wks). I have three friends who have had babies in the past two years helped me put together a list, and I just did them all online. Our first baby shower is in about 6 wks because it's an out of state shower (where we'd have to drive 10 hrs or so to get to).

I have lamaze classes scheduled in May (I am doing the once a week schedule instead of one long Saturday one) and also breastfeeding and another early parenting classes in early June.

Still haven't registered yet, currently 23.5 weeks. I hope to start this soon.

We scheduled our birthing class for April. I will be 29 weeks.

Thanks for all the input! We're going to find out the gender (my appointment is at 20.5 weeks) so we'll probably wait to do the registry till then. I've already looked at furniture and we'll be ordering it in the coming week (it takes 12 weeks to come in plus another week or so for delivery). It's overwhelming with the amount of stuff you need to get! :-O

As for the classes, my hospital offers a combination of courses called Baby 101 that includes birthing, infant CPR, infant health, and a class that goes over things like feeding, changing, etc. I'm guessing since my EDD is August 16 I'll probably wait until about June to start those.

We are going to register on Saturday I will be 25 weeks and like PP I am taking a Bradley class which is longer than most so our class started Yesterday and is every Sunday for 12 weeks.

We registered after big u/s. We are team green but just wanted to make sure LO was ok. We started our birthing class at 25 weeks since that is the recommended timeframe for the particular class we chose. We are taking BFing & Infant Care classes at 32 & 33 wks.

We registered at 23 weeks. And our birthing classes start when I will e 30 weeks.
