Tips for a San Diego Vacation (with toddler)?

We're from OC and I'm planning on surprising DH and DD with a mini vacation to San Diego this summer. I want to stay somewhere really nice - whether its a hotel or bungalows. Does anyone know of any good places to stay that are near (or on) the beach? Also, DD will be about 22 months by then. Do you think legoland or seaworld would be better?

Thanks a bunch!

With a 22 month old, it might be better to stay on the bay vs. the beach.  I really don't know the quality of these hotels, never stayed at them but here are a few suggestions:

https://www.paradisepoint.com/ (Sorry I can't get any of these to clicky)

     On the beach...  https://www.hoteldel.com/

I have never been to legoland but my DH and I go to Sea World regularly, we have season passes.  I think it will be great for a 22 month old.

https://www.crystalpier.com/ These don't seem very luxury and I've never stayed there, but awesome location and right on the beach!

I live in Carlsbad, I'd recommend staying here as opposed to down in San Diego. Legoland and the Wild Animal Park are both very near by. La Costa Resort and Spa is awesome, so is the Four Seasons Aviara. We have great beaches. Hope that helps!

We got married at the Catamaran, its on the bay in Pacific/Mission beach.  It's really nice and easily accesable to Sea World and to head up the 5 for Legoland.  The Pacific Terrace is also in PB on the beach and it is really nice too.  My parents always stay there for a few days when they visit bc it's a treat.  They do a happy hour in the afternoon and have free wine and lemonade which is a nice little treat.  GL!
