luc wasnt really eating solids completely at 6 months. i would do just one meal a day and it was usually small (she isnt a huge solids eater, even now) but she always took a bottle afterwards.
maybe you should give him milk first then solids? theyre only for practice at his age anyway, he really doesnt need them.. he needs milk more.
I give the bottle first then a few hours later I give the solid. She eats solids only twice a day. I was told to make sure they get the bottle in, then worry about the solids...because they need the calories from the formula, which they don't get nearly enough calories from the solids. I was told at this point almost to treat solids like dessert. After the bottle and not when they are sooo hungry.

He is taking at least 24 oz of formula per day, so I guess he's doing OK. But he often won't take a bottle after a solid meal and he didn't seem interested in water (have offered a few times in a bottle, just bought a Nuby cup today).
He loves most solids (cereals, fruits, some veggies) and reaches for the spoon. He's a big boy at 21 lb (has consistently been 95th percentile) and I'm not too worried about his intake, but I wasn't sure if he should be drinking after a meal.

He should drink before the solid meal (kind of like right in between). Watch how much water also because it fills them up and they do not need the extra water. hth
