Anyone have Baby's Dream furniture?

I had picked out some Munire furniture but we went back this weekend and saw a new line from Baby's Dream called the Legendary.  The brand is  rated "A" by Baby Bargains and appears to be really good quality furniture.  The people in the store said it takes at least 8 weeks to order it and then I went on-line and saw some reviews where people waited more like 3 months for it and still waiting.  Just wondered if anyone had experience with this brand.  The Legendary series is brand new in Dec 2009, so I'm sure no one has the actual furniture for that series.

Re: Anyone have Baby's Dream furniture?

  • We don't have Legendary, but we have Serenity.  Obviously, we haven't used it yet, but it looks like it's made well.

  • I have Baby's Dream furniture.  I ordered it on the Saturday after Black Friday (furniture place had a deal where I could save $300) and everything arrived the week of Christmas.  I don't know what took the longest since I ordered a glider/ottoman, bedding, crib mattress, and all the furniture.  We went with the Serenity crib and I believe it was Next Generation or Generation Next dresser and changing table.  The changing table is the three door that flips over to become just a normal dresser.

Here's a link to a post I did a few days ago with pictures.

ETA: I should say that DH is extremely picky about furniture.  He deals with wood furniture daily and his grandfather made a lot of furniture.  He was extremely pleased with the quality of this furniture.  You should have heard him go on and on about the details.  I moved on to trying to find bedding after we picked the furniture, he kept on talking about the details.  I do know that the factory (Baby's Dream) was closed for two weeks for the holiday.  The door on our tall dresser has a crack in it and they will be sending out a replacement this week.  But everything else is outstanding and looks great.  The drawers are nice and roomy and DH said the crib was easy to set up.

  • We considered both Munire and Baby's Dream but decided against Baby's Dream because all of their cribs are made of pine which is a soft wood and will scratch/dent a lot easier than the Munire cribs. For about the same price we wanted to go for something that would be a bit more durable. We also weren't impressed with the dresser's construction compared to Munire's.
  • We just ordered the Legendary set this weekend!  I LOVE it.  We liked this one the best out of all the brands in the store we went to.  Esp the dresser.. my husband is so picky about the stability of the dresser and how the drawers slide and we liked this one alot.  Even though it is pine, that's not necessarily a bad thing.  There are different types of pine - some are very soft (cheapy ones) and others are a hard Georgia pine which this one is.  To be honest, even the other woods can scratch just as easy as this one.  (Uh, we tested this..)

We thought this was solid, my husband was in the store moving it around and shaking it to the point where I kind of got embarassed and it seemed very sturdy..lol.  Plus like you said Baby Bargains rated them an A.  Go for it, it's a beautiful set!!  I can't wait to get ours.  I also liked that the dresser had full drawers, and not the door on the side.

  • My husband and I went to several baby stores and looked at furniture ... both of us were set on finding something that was quality, solid wood and would last through at least a few kids down the road. Like another commenter, my husband definitely "kicked the tires" and rattled the furniture around to see what brands were secure and well-made. :)

Baby's Dream offered the best price for the quality. I liked that Baby Bargains recommended them an "A" for value and quality. It is well-constructed and we loved that "All Baby's Dream products are constructed of solid wood. This means no MDF, veneers, or particleboard."

The store suggested I order early in case they took the full 2 months to deliver. I ordered our set in mid-November but was pleasantly surprised when it arrived just before Christmas, about six weeks after placing our order.

We selected the espresso Crib 2 College set (https://www.babysdream.com/Products/Crib2College/Default.htm). The packing was generous, with plenty of padding. Nothing was damaged in transit, though we did nick a few of the edges while moving the pieces up the stairs. We can be clumsy. :)  The wood held up and still looks really great.

Crib assembly was a little difficult since the instructions weren't very clear, but the two of us got it together in less than an hour. The dresser was fully assembled, which was nice.

All in all, we're very, very happy with the quality. We're not rich, but it was important to pay a little extra to find a well-made set, and we love the one we got. I'd highly recommend Baby's Dream.

  • Hi! I was just researching Baby Dream's Legendary furniture and came across your post. Did you end up buying this set? If so, how do you like it? I really love the set and am strongly considering placing my order this weekend.
  • We just bought the Baby's Dream Legendary Crib (round top) and Double Dresser. We placed the order today, and just like the rest of you, we were told it would take about 8 weeks to come in. I am so excited to read that the rest of your husbands tested the furniture out to the point of almost embarrassment like mine did. We looked at the Munire furniture, but for what seemed so similar, we preferred the price and the look of this crib and dresser. We also looked at the Eastside Collection by Baby Italia at Babies R Us. We really liked the look of it, but we were so much more impressed with the quality of Baby's Dream. Now we just can't wait until it arrives! We were told we would have to assemble the crib, but the dresser would come put together. Good luck on your furniture hunt!
  • I have the Kathryn Crib and Generation Next combo dresser. DS is 2 1/2 and we've used it his entire life. We converted it to the toddler bed at 21 months. The dresser has even held up to DS climbing and standing in the top drawer (at 30lbs!) I've been very happy with the furniture! Good luck with your choice!
