Tsunami question NBR

I just heard on the news that the wave is expected to be between 2-3 feet high. I know Tsunami's are very dangerous but that does not sound high to me. What am I not understanding?

Re: Tsunami question NBR

  • Tsunamis aren't normal ocean waves.  They come in like a flood - the water washes in and back out again and it takes quite a long time (like half an hour or something).  And that 2-3 feet can turn to over 10 feet in small areas like bays.  And it's not just one wave, there are usually several of them.
