I just heard on the news that the wave is expected to be between 2-3 feet high. I know Tsunami's are very dangerous but that does not sound high to me. What am I not understanding?

Tsunamis aren't normal ocean waves. They come in like a flood - the water washes in and back out again and it takes quite a long time (like half an hour or something). And that 2-3 feet can turn to over 10 feet in small areas like bays. And it's not just one wave, there are usually several of them.
They also have a much stronger force the a regular wave.
A lot of years and a million tears finally led me to you.

I'm fielding phone calls from the fam on the East Coast, concerned for us and our welfare.
Fortunately, we're not on the coast, but scary nonetheless!
