Success after IF

My Dad's cancer is back.

He had bladder cancer.  They went in, removed the tumors and the doc didn't even think he needed treatment.  My Dad had 3/4 of his colon removed when I was 18 months old and they gave him 5 years to live.  (clearly he's still here) So he doesn't mess around with not treating stuff.  So for the last year (give or take) he's been taking immunotherapy treatments.  They're painful as heck.  They've been putting a giant needle up his peehole and into his bladder.

They did a test and the tumors are back and still cancerous.  So now he's faced with whether to do chemotherapy or other more extreme treatments.  With chemo only 25-35% of the people who have done the immunotherapy and it been ineffective will respond to the chemo.  So they could do that and perhaps waste 6 weeks while the cancer spreads or they could do something else.  The something else includes removing his bladder and putting in a man-made one, neobladder I believe it's called, or put in an external one.

I have a very strong feeling that this is the beginning of the end for my Dad.  He's beat it before, but I'm very scared he might not be able to beat it again especially since it's popped back up again.  Definitely reminds me how precious every day is and that I need to try not to sweat the small stuff.

So any thoughts and prayers you can spare would be much appreciated.  I know your help in that arena has worked wonders around here.  :-)  So I'll take it.
