Bleeding @ 8wks ? (Might be TMI, but I'm worried)

Did any of you have bleeding early in your pregnancy?  My OB's office is closed.  I really want to go in and see someone today or early tomorrow.  I started bleeding last night and it's like a period - sort of medium to heavy.  There was one little clot that I passed last night.  I've had a little bleeding before, but it stopped after less than an hour and it was much lighter - it was more like spotting.

I've had 4 M/C's and all have been multiples (3 sets of twins and 1 set of triplets).  I'm afraid that I might be M/C'ing again.  I'm EBF'ing DD.  IDK if that has anything to do with it.  I had one other M/C since she was born (another set of triplets).

  • i spotted at 13w and all was ok. Many women with twins have bleeding early on and it's fine - there's really nothing you can do other than lay down and drink a lot of water - and pray.  The docs can only check but can't stop it if it is a m/c, as i'm sure you already know.

prayers that it is OK.... head to the ER if you need to.

  • I just posted about this earlier this week! I'm a little over 7 weeks and just experienced bleeding. I ended up going to the ER b/c my RE's office was closed. It was a waste of time though, I should have just waited for the office to open. My bleeding is apparently caused by a blood pocket, possibly a SCH. I won't know more til Monday. So there's hope that it's not a m/c. I know I completely freaked the hell out until I got an u/s so I'm sorry you're going through this and I hope you get some answers soon.
  • Our surro had 2 episodes of bleeding with the twins and it turned out ok...just a pool of blood in the uterus.  Head to the ER if you are unsure.
  • if it were me i would head to the ER because i would want to know what was going on. best of luck.
  • Thanks!  I'm gonna see if I can request a u/s to see if everything's alright (heck, maybe they can do another "head count").  I'm relieved that other women have had bleeding before.  I never had it with either of my kids.  I swear I've felt the round ligament pain already though LOL!  Maybe I'm just imagining stuff!
  • hope all is well...keep us posted...

  • I hope that everything is okay.  Am I reading your post correctly and you are still EBF your daughter?  I am suprised your dr didn't have you stop just because of how hard triplets are on your body.

Go the the ER and make sure everything is okay!

  • With bleeding that heavy I would go to the ER.  Get an u/s.  Get your betas drawn.
  • I'm going into the office to get my betas tested this afternoon, after DH gets back from PT (physical therapy).  I'm still waiting for the nurse to call me back.  They might order an emergency u/s (*crosses fingers for that*).  They've done that with me before.  Confused

Just an anecdote for you. My RE's office gave me the brush off when I asked for an u/s and I had to practically demand one before they agreed to it. So if you want one to be afraid to ask. GL!! My fingers are crossed for you.

  • Hope all goes well.
Did you see this thread from earlier? (You were paged.)

Oh I thought you said the office was closed.  Glad you got an appt

  • Hmmm, your daughter is not even 6 months old, you are almost 9 weeks pregnant with triplets and miscarried triplets before them? So you got pregnant with triplets within the first 8 weeks of having your daughter?

Something smells fishy and it isn't me.

Oh, wait.... maybe its the spermicidal condoms you used when you got pregnant with your trips while also bfing.?

    ?

They would definitely get you in for an ultrasound, so when you get that today why don't you post it for us to see :)?

  • Hmmm -- let's pretend you really are pg with triplets (which based on your other posts & siggy I think you're full of sh!t).

A beta at 8 weeks will tell you nothing unless it's equal to or less than a number you've had before.  And I don't mean that pretend beta you had at 2dpo when it's IMPOSSIBLE to detect hcg in your blood.

At this point the only way to know anything is via u/s.
At this point (if you're not a huge liar) you should get thy self to an MFM/Peri and NOT an OB.  OB's will not be experienced in high risk triplet pregnancies.
At this point you should be worried about what is causing the bleeding, not doing another headcount (unless you're setting yourself up for an announcment of being the next Otocomom or something).

  • I'm not pretending about anything.  IDK how the heck I got pregnant again.  I've M/C'd multiples before and it looks like it's happening again.  My OB thinks I'm miscarrying.  I appreciate the help you guys have given me.  I won't be bothering you ladies any more.
