endometrial ablation?

Probably a long shot as most people on this board are trying to make themselves more fertile and this procedure makes one much much less...

But, anyone know anything about it, experiences, etc??

I was doing a Dove party for a woman at my RE's office a bunch of the women were talking about it. None of them seemed to know much about it but they were all for it. I'd love to hear what others know about it.

My Ob specializes in this, but I'm a few years out still. I have such painful periods, I'm very interested in it. I'd want to know if there are hormonal downsides - early menopause for example and all the problems that come from menopause.

I wondered the same, but my OB assured there is no risk of this as they're just getting rid of the lining of your uterus... your ovaries continue to function exactly the same as they did before. That's the big benefit of the ablation procedure over a hysterectomy, no early menopause.

I had a uterine artery ablation...is that similar? same? totally different? I'd think it would affect the endometrium due to decreased blood flow. It's tough to find info on it...
