We are finding out what we are having (hopefull in about 6 weeks!) but I am dangerously close to buying all the cute little girl clothes I see! I have already bought a dress (that I will return if we are having a boy) that our little girl could come home from the hospital in. Check out Gymboree and their little goldfish outfits! SOOOOOO cute! It would be far more convenient if Old Wive's Tales were accurate!
Re: Dying to know the sex of the baby!!!
I have already bought a few gender neutral clothing (maybe more boyish) for my LO. I couldn't help it, it was such a good sale at only $.75 per item. If it's a girl Ill just put a bow on her head so people wont be confused.
I think it's easier to put a girl in boy clothes then put a boy in girl clothes. If it is a girl I will for sure start buying some dresses.
Can't wait either- I am counting down- I have about 7 weeks but cannot wait. I feel like I am having a girl so curious to see if I am right or not. Either way I will be ecstatic, I just cant wait to know.
Side note- Macy's did have a really good sale- they have a lot of winter coats that are like $7- when they were like $50 before. I got a blue and purple just in case..
DH and I are too
we we're really hoping Dahlia's was going to be a boy, but I had this gut feeling she was a girl, and well, she is
this time around i have a gut feeling its a boy, but I don't know if I'm just confusing it with REALLY REALLY wanting a boy. We're not buying any clothes, even after we find out. between handme downs (my cousin has a boy only 8 mo younger than Dahlia) and grandma's...I know there will be no lack of cute outfits :P
Uh, yeah, I wouldn't be able to pass up that bargain either!
We have bought some things throughout the last year or so (before we got pregnant) - just stuff we see on sale for a really good deal. I can always give what I don't use/need as a baby shower gift. But now that I'm pregnant, I will only buy an outfit if it is gender neutral. I found first Halloween, Thanksgiving, and Christmas outfits at Toys 'R Us that will work for either a boy or girl, so we bought all three - for about $11!
I completely agree.
Are you sure you can still return the items in 6 weeks? And what if the baby closes it's legs and they can't identify the gender until later? You are setting yourself up for disappointment if it is a boy.
I thought my baby is a girl for the first couple of days. Yesterday I started calling it "him." Your feelings may change and there's a 50% chance they are wrong.
For sure.
Right! Time to squash it like a bug and just be happy with a healthy baby.
You forgot to mention shallow.
I can understand having a wee bit of a preference, but seriously--do you guys see how ridiculous you sound talking this way?
Hopefully if you have a boy, he will never find out that you REALLY wanted a girl.
And for those of you buying stuff because of a good sale...please know that there are always good, cheap baby clothing sales out there. Always.
Stop setting yourself up for dissappointment. It's only a few weeks. Just wait.

I'm with MSC. I can't wait to be a mom to either gender
Bravo!
OMFG! I have never even used "OMFG" before... that's how "ridiculous" you guys are! Where did I say that I WANT a girl? My husband and I always felt like we would have a boy for some reason, no we think it's a girl. I am not an idiot. I didn't buy anything without making sure I could return it ( I've got 6 monthc to return it thankyouverymuch). Where did any of you ever get the idea that I'd be DISAPPOINTED with a boy???? My sister was right about these boards. You people jump to be judgmental about everything!!! All I said was that it's hard to pass up all the cute girl stuff!! I will love and want my baby, girl or boy, normal or disabled, whatever. I suggest getting over yourselves right quick.
That's alot of "!!!" and "???"s....
Also, when did "normal" become the opposite of "disabled"?

all the "???" and "!!!" were because of all the infuriating stupidty in the comments responding to the fact that baby girl dresses are cute. there was no need for anyone to respond to that comment with anything but "Oh, I know, i can't wait until I find out either".
P.S. If "abled" works better for you, then edit it in your own little head. I'm sure you can handle it.
you find responses to your post about baby clothing "infuriating"? someone needs to grow up.
& your P.S. won't be dignified with a response.

Pretty much.
"your P.S. won't be dignified with a response" is a response smarty-pants
I don't think I need to grow up if all I said was how cute little girl dresses are and then proceeded to be called ridiculous (and most infuriating) shallow for no reason that i can see. I think maybe the people posting these things need to grow up and actually READ and UNDERSTAND what was actually written.
Yay! Let's add drama queen to the list.
Seriously, I think you should reread your post. You portrayed yourself as being all pumped up and already shopping for a girl.
I think you need to LURK and UNDERSTAND what the bump is about. You are being ridiculous and your post was shallow - we are going to tell you how it is.
That is the bump. If you don't like it, go somewhere else.
nice try at creating drama where there wasn't any to begin with
This precisely. We already decided to go with a neutral theme for the bedroom (woodland animals, sage green, buttercup yellow) and have only bought neutral clothing and only from resale shops or the Just Between Friends sales. Don't get me wrong, we're super excited to find out what it is, but most of all we want a healthy baby. We can wait to do gender-specific shopping. No use mooning over the cute little sparkly shoes or the little star wars onesies until later.
