I dislike posts that announce bumpcations or GBCB's unless it's hey I'm travelling and won't be here.
If the board is too much for you, go away quietly. Don't post to AW you are leaving because most of us know you're doing it to either (a) get on a high horse or (b) have us beg you to stay.
ITA, also the post about "bump is so much drama I can't stand it". My response is "then log off your computer and go do something else".
I can't believe people would miss someone who made up an AE and called me out for faking my m/c just because someone on the toddler board knew someone who was supposedly faking a pregnancy. That was a despicably low blow and I wouldn't be friends with someone like that in real life or IRL, or nonetheless miss them when they temp GBCN for what they did.
A-M-A-Z-I-N-G
I agree it was low and she needed to take a bump break.
But I thought she was one of the nicest bumpies on here who got way too caught up in the drama.

-the pregnant "man" is just a woman who is a huge AW. She is nothing special as women get pregnant all the time. [note: i have no issues or problems with the transgendered community but she irks me to no end]
- all the CIO post bother the hell out of me! would you want to be left in a room by yourself screaming for the people you love to come to you? no. its cruel. being a parent and being tired are one in the same for some. stop complaining. things will change eventually. be hopeful. [note DD wakes up every 2 hours since the day she was born and every hour for the last three nights]
- post updating bumpies on how your CIO session is going are stupid. if you are going to let your child scream at least actually go through the pain of hearing it and not using the bump to help you ignore your child.

I hear what you are saying.
My unpop opinion is that I believe sleep is a huge developmental step in a baby's life. The sleep patterns they grow up with will carry into their adult life. Waking up every 1 to 2 hours as a normal course of the evening (i.e. not sick, not teething, etc) disrupts the sleep that they need.
Providing your child with the tools he/she needs to learn how to sleep is just as important, again IMO, as anything else. Babies need to learn how to sleep as well and CIO is just one of many methods to teach them.

No flames and I certainly didn't have to do CIO, but I just think that at some point it doesn't have to be that way. There are options and when the age is right, CIO is one of those options. And truthfully? Sometimes I do want to be locked in a room by myself to have a good crying jag! Just my inexperienced opinion.
My UO is that I hate, hate, HATE character clothing! Why ruin a perfectly adorable shirt by plastering Dora or some other inane character on it? I know I'm destined to a life of Disney Princess sheets, rompers, sweaters, etc. b/c of this and I am DREADING it!!!

I think it's harmful (note that I didn't say cruel) to not help your child get a full night's sleep.
3 days of 10 to 30 minutes sessions of crying =/= cruelty. If that were cruel CPS would really have their hands full. Get a grip lady.

Yes, they have stupid badges. But I've seen stupid badges on every board. 3-6 telling them to get rid of their badges before coming to that board is a little extreme.
They have the "Cool Kids Club". Whatever. If they want to make up their own sorority with rules on joining, let them. It just makes them look immature. I don't see any difference between that and HAB or any other offshoot group from TB. There are cliques present on every board, whether they are out in the open or not.

Along the same lines, am I the only one that finds teenage drama shows where the teens are shown having sex to be really disturbing? I mean some of the characters aren't even over 18.
Yes, I too am disturbed by this - whether the show is trying to teach a lesson or not.
I have a friend that watches all those shows on abc "family". Secret life of teenage hornballs or whatever...

DD is very happy. She takes long [2 hr] naps throughout the day. we even had a few days where she only woke up twice between midnight and 9am. dh and i feel that we'll help where we can but CIO is not an option in our home hence it being my opinion in general.

That's great, however my DD did not do this and was not happy. She was exhausted and always cranky and fussy and this choice was best for my family. And for someone to say that it's cruel is ridiculous. Your opinion was not that it's not an option for you, your opinion was that it was cruel and that others should stop complaining.

I kinda hate photos from Sears, JCP, Kiddie Kandids, whatever.
They are not good.
Awww I really like quite a few of the shots I've had taken of DS at Sears. If it wasn't for them I wouldn't have nice clean bright shots of DS. Sadly I don't have the home decor, light, or supplies to take some of the professional looking shots other girls can take at home.

you're right. i did say that. that was pretty judgy of me. i apologize, i should not have said stop complaining, but i still think its cruel.
for the record: CIO is considered cruel in my home. It is not an option for us. Whatever other parents choose to do in their homes with their kids is their decision. maybe my views will change with LO #2... but until then it won't be done in my home and it will still bother me when i read or hear of other parents doing it.
This isn't going to unpopular on the bump, but it would be in the U.S.
I think all moms should have one year off from work...with pay. Then, I think they should only be required to work part-time for the second year. I also think you should have at least one paid month off before you have the baby.
I have no clue how to make that work or how to pay for the time lost. But I think it should be policy anyway. There is just too much stress on working moms.

Don't get me wrong, I think that what she did was awful. I also think that everyone makes mistakes and that those mistakes don't necessarily make them a bad person. I think Kit is a good person who did something crappy.
- I really think Bumbo chairs are one of the dumbest baby products out there. I've seen WAY too many siggy pics with newborn-ish babies and/or babies that are nowhere near sitting up, stuffed into those cheap plastic chairs.
It looks really uncomfortable and sad =(
- It made me sick to read about people going off on that trainer at Sea World b/c they disagree with her occupation. Really people? Someone just lost a daughter, best friend, mother, aunt (whatever she was) and you can't stop for one second not to use it as platform for your views? It's really disgusting.
- Declan is a bad name. I read people on here talking about naming their future kid that and I thought it was a joke. I googled and sure enough it is a name. (Just my opinion of course for those who love it ;-)

IF i were on a pedestal i'm pretty sure it would be warm... because i hate winter. sidenote: i just LOVE how this post is to state your opinions that aren't popular and then flames come because....surprise surprise people don't agree. that's hilarious.
i hope you are having a beautiful day minus my opinions of course.
lol! maybe.. but im the sexiest.ass.evah! ::spanks myself::
me too!! glad I'm not alone!!
i have no idea who kit is/was/or was pretending to be.
Word.
LOL
I hate Elmo. I seriously wish Sesame Street would kill him off. And that stupid fairy thing too.
(Just my opinion of course for those who love it ;-)
SAHM to two sweet girls, both born at home; Baby #3 in 2013!
Pictures of Sebastien are cute no matter what.
I am just catching up on all this but I honestly could not have said this better myself!!!
